I got my rings back yesterday so I called Jane because she had mentioned that Gold Party at the Cedar lake Golf Course. I wasn't expecting the rings to get here till the 14th so I was happy that they came. Jane was on her way to the golf course so her husband came over to pick up my jewelry before he went up there. He was going to sell some of his gold chains. Jane wouldn't be there. She was golfing. He called later to say what they'd give me so I took it. At least now I have enough to get my car inspected and registered and have an oil change. That's a big relief!
Jane stopped over this morning to give me the check and show me her stray cat that has been hanging at her house. She's been feeding it but doesn't really want it to keep. I think she will change her mind though. She had just picked it up from the vet after getting it fixed. The last time a stray cat came around she had that one fixed also and then the owner claimed it.
I was out of the house at 7 am this morning. Went to Walmart for some groceries. It was so pretty at that time of the morning. The store was quiet. I didn't want to go out in the heat. I almost went last night but I thought maybe Jane was going to stop but she never called. But I was tired anyway.
It's another warm day. The humidity isn't as bad though. It's in the low 80's.
When I got home my damn driver's side window would not go up all the way. It wouldn't go down either so I guess that's broke now. I don't like electric windows. It can just stay that way. I'm sure not paying someone to fix it. I'll just have to keep plastic over it when it rains. If it ain't one thing, it's another. Ha!
I'm trying to catch up on things today and going through pictures and trying to find some on my external drives. Things sure get lost when you have thousands of folders and pics...
The maintenance man replaced my kitchen faucet yesterday. It's been leaking for a long time so I am glad that is taken care of. He was telling me about a huge hole out back that the woodchuck is living in. LOL I guess it's pretty close to the back door but off the sidewalk up near the hill. I've been seeing this real old woodchuck lately. His nose is always dirty so I guess it might be his home. That one runs when I open the window so it's not one of my usual ones.
I had a baby skunk that got scared and climbed into the rock wall outside my bedroom window. I was watching and couldn't see him at all and got very worried about him. One of his siblings even tried to get in there but he almost got stuck and got back out. I have seen a squirrel get it's head caught in those rocks and die. I did not see that other one for almost two hours. His mom and other sibs had already gone home but he finally did manage to get himself out. But now he seems lost and spent the night out here in a hole at the top of the alley where the old woodchuck had dug a couple years ago. He was out here early yesterday morning. I'm hoping his mom came along last night and he followed her back home. I didn't see it today. There are way too many skunks around here now..LOL
Life is always entertaining for me outside these windows. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have all these critters to entertain me.. I sure wouldn't be out in the community room playing cards. I hate that!!
So that's about it for the past two days. At least now I'm in a better mood.. I sure hope the government doesn't shut down our SS checks like the president has said might happen. That would be devastating for everyone.
