Wednesday-June 13, 2012-Still Have A Bad Back

I can't seem to get rid of the pain in my back. I can't stand up straight and have to be real careful I don't fall. I'm wearing out the handles on my walker because I grip them so tight. I haven't been able to get out to get groceries so I guess my daughter will have to do that for me. I hate asking her but not much else I can do. The pain isn't quite as bad today but I'm still afraid to go out.
Jane called yesterday. Catching me up on everything. She talked to Gavin's wife. Cortney left yesterday for basic training in MS. They need to find a home for their dog because Gavin and the baby are moving down to Canastota with Cortney's mother. I bet that won't go over very well. But Gavin has no one else to help with the baby. Cortney's dad moved out and into his girlfriend's house and Gavin can't afford to stay in that apartment. And I'm not sure if he can take care of the baby that well. He's on the computer constantly when he's not working. So we are wondering what will happen.
Steve is back to drinking heavy and falling off his bike. This time he's hurt his ribs and Jane thinks he broke his glasses too because he didn't have any on the other day when he came to his girlfriend's house. Jane had stopped to talk to Grace because she saw her sitting on her porch all alone.
Faith, Steve's step-daughter, is up in NY from NC with the family, visiting her in-laws and she said she doesn't want Steve around if he's drinking. No one wants him around any more. He treats everyone like shit when he's drinking and you wouldn't believe the names he calls his own family. He really should go in rehab but he always thinks he's in control. He'll be dead soon if he keeps that up. And if he lands in jail no one will bail his ass out like they did before.
Rich, my younger brother, came all the way down to Ilion to pick Steve up so he could help him on the garage he's building. So he stops at Stewarts to get coffee and Steve comes out with a couple bottles of beer! If I were Rich I surely would NOT have Steve helping him. Jim told him that too. Jim is done with Steve. He said he'll never have him help him again and Jim doesn't even want to talk to Steve any more because of what Steve said to Jim's wife at Alysha's husband's funeral up in NH. He was drunk at the service.
Steve will be landing in jail soon anyway if what I'm hearing is true. It's just not the booze. He's doing something very illegal that will land him there if caught. It will be his own damn fault. He's 62 years old for cripes sake!
Jim stopped by last night because he wanted me to advertise his apartments that he has for rent. The poor guy has four empty right now. He's been busy fixing them up and he and Patty doesn't have time to get on the computer to renew the ads every four days. So I did that last night for him.
Jim's back is bothering him too. I don't know how he does it. He's carrying that heavy plywood all the time and climbing ladders. And he can never find anyone young and strong to help him. His back goes out on him every year it seems. Sometimes he's laid up for a week or two. I could tell he was in pain yesterday by the way he was sitting. He's such a hard worker.
Jim said he and Patty are flying out to Wisconsin this weekend for a wedding so at least he will be taking a break from work.
After one real hot day on Monday and a rainy Tuesday, it looks like today will be cooler and nice. After these morning clouds lift.
Mommy deer hasn't been seen for six days so she's in the woods with her baby and I'm hoping she's okay. I still have not seen any fox pups. I'm beginning to think there isn't any this year.
Have a nice day everyone. I have to go get my birds up and get breakfast.
