It got up to 91 today and it was so humid. I am so glad my air conditioner is working good. Even though I have to catch the water now in a pail. So much for a portable. But it's still nicer than having a big box thing in the window. I think it was too hot for the foxes and deer today because I didn't see a one. And tomorrow will be just as hot.
Yesterday the Doe came over this way but I couldn't see the fawn. Later I saw the Doe's ears in the bushes and then heard later from the maintenance man that the doe and fawn were way down towards the front of the building in the bushes when he came around the building. But I still never saw them again. The bushes are too high and they were on the other side of them. The ladies down towards the front saw the fawn though. That was thrilling to them. They don't get to see very many animals like I do.
Nina stopped by with the girls for a short while. I had to scan some papers for her. Her scanner isn't working. She had to have them into a place where she's trying to get a part time job for the summer. I had to reset my scanner settings so it would scan as a PDF file. I never have used that setting before. I only use my scanner for pictures, as a jpeg file. Then I mailed them to her e-mail account so she could send them from there.
The girls were anxious to get back home so they could get in the pool. They had a half day of school today and their last half day is tomorrow. Then they are off for the summer.
Salena's hip isn't bothering her any more so she's okay. The doctor took more x-rays but told Nina that it was just overworked muscles. Swimming will be good for her all summer.
On Friday Nina is taking the kids to her old employer's picnic at Green Lakes State Park in Syracuse. She said they always invite her. And Nina likes to stay in touch in case she ever wants to go back to work for the state.. And on Saturday is her sister, Kayla's graduation party. She sure is a busy girl!
I haven't eaten any sweets since Nina gave me the candy for Mother's Day. But I'm craving ice cream now. Ha! So Nina is going to pick me up some Butter Pecan tomorrow. It will sure taste good but my tummy will know that I ate dairy. I'll suffer for a few days..Ha! Ha! I'm not losing weight very fast. I've only lost 7 lbs. so far. But it's better than nothing.
I saw a woodchuck over on the grass today. Not sure if it was one of the babies that were living out back but Wanda said it probably was because the old mother has kicked them out of the hole now. Told them to go off on their own..LOL I wish I could have seen the babies near the hole back there but they were out of my viewing area. Maybe they will wander down by my windows one of these days.
Not much else to talk about. Just about bed time for me. I'm sleeping a lot better now. I keep the head part up a little on the bed and also the knee area. It helps a lot. I can't lie flat. It's too uncomfortable. The air mattress always sank in the middle so I was never really flat on that.
