May 15, 2012-Rainy Days

Yesterday and today have been rainy and gloomy. The mildew in the walls is bothering me. The damn squirrels are jumping on the windows all day long. They are driving me crazy. They are always worse on rainy days for some reason. Oh well. It's my fault for feeding them of course. So I can't complain too much.
I went out last evening and got groceries. The rain held off. It was only sprinkling a little. They were calling for heavy rain last night so I tried to hurry up and get in and out faster. I was home shortly after 8:00. In time to watch the first night of American Idol. That program has so many goofy people that it makes me laugh anyway..
On the way out the door at Walmart I ran into Barb, the girl I had lunch with last week. She and her husband will be leaving tomorrow for NH, where their home is. They aren't there much though. They travel in their travel trailer to different areas where her husband works on churches. She said she'd see me next year. I said I hope so! I don't plan on that far ahead these days. It will be  a miracle if I'm still here by next year.

I see where people are having silent auctions online for Alysha, who's husband got killed. They have people from all over having them. One is in Rome, NY. I see it on Facebook. Alysha is going to use cloth diapers. Isn't it amazing that girls are finally going back to the cloth ones! I can't believe there were so many lazy women out there that used those throw aways all these years. Some gag at the thought of rinsing out a shitty diaper in the toilet..LOL The landfills are full of them now. I always used the cloth ones. I don't think they even had the paper ones at that time. I don't know how people can afford them. I think the babies will be much happier also. The cloth will feel so much better to them. I always hated those things when Nina used them. All I could think of is that plastic next to the kid's skin and they looked uncomfortable to me. So whoever thought up the "new" idea of having cloth ones again I say Kudos to them!! The newer versions are much nicer than in our day. And colorful...Ha!

My turtle is very restless these days. She's under the chair or in the bedroom or walking all over the aprtment. I put her back in the water and she will drink some but won't eat and then fights to get back out. Right now she's sleeping in my bedroom. She was kicking her legs so I think she has eggs in there. They say you should have a big box of sand for them to lay their eggs. I can't do that. Sand is heavy and what a mess I'd have if she kicked it all over the place. I sure wish she could live at a zoo but no one wants her. I've written letters before and they never answer me. The only thing I can do is have her put to sleep. I'll have to someday when I can't take care of her any more. But we've all had a reprieve on living longer thatn we thought.
Well. Guess I'll get back in the living room and watch TV for a while. It's going to be a lazy day for me. I'm always tired after getting groceries. But at elast one thing is good. My knee and leg pain is a whole lot better now. My foot is very uncomfortable when I go out though. I can't wait to get home and get my sneakers off and back into my slippers.
Have a nice day everyone.
