Can't believe it's the last day of June already. After all the rain it looks like we are finally going to get a couple sunny days. It was cool yesterday. Only got up to 62 degrees. But it was still sticky and humid in the early part of the day. I didn't do anything. Watched the trial all day. The defense might close up today and the state will have their rebuttals and hopefully it will go to the jury real fast. Get that Casey Anthony back in her cell where she belongs and not in front of the cameras that she so enjoys.
Jane went up to Watertown to see Gavin and Cortney and the new baby yesterday but I haven't heard from her yet. Sometime today probably.
I only saw one of the fox pups yesterday. They mowed the back hill so they won't have the tall grass to hide in any more. That means they will be staying further away on the hill area. With the sunny days I will see them I hope.
I'm feeling better. The tail bone injury is healing but still aches when I sit. It's when I go to stand that the pressure is bad and it bothers me.
I am staying in today. Tomorrow I'll have to go out again though.
Have a nice day everyone. I forget that it's the 4th of July weekend so I hope you all have a good one! Take care.

Tuesday, June 28, 2011-Visitors-New Addition In Family
Yesterday my cousin, Angie, brought her Gram ( My Aunt Mary) and Mary's sister, Veronica, over with her. That was a surprise. I was expecting Angie because I had asked her to exchange some coins for me. She just bought a new car. It's a convertible and Mary and Veronica were riding with the top down. They loved it! I only wished I had thought to take pictures while they were here and of them in the car. Darn it. Hope I get another opportunity to get some pics of them.
I'm healing up from my fall on Friday. My legs aren't feeling bad and the tail bone is not as bad but still bothers me a bit when I sit too long.
I went out today. Had to go to Walmart for a few items and to Agway for some critter food. I went during the lunch time when the trial was in recess so I wouldn't miss anything.
Jeanne called around 2:00 and wanted to come over and show me her new vehicle she just bought today. It's a Toyota Rav. A small SUV. It's beautiful!! And I'll be able to get in it! I never could get a ride from her before because I can't get out of small cars. I have a hard enough time getting out of my Oldsmobile and that's a mid size car. I always wished I had bought a small truck. I don't have the leg muscles to get up so always use my arms to push myself up and out. But with SUV's I can just slide into the seat or up a little. I love them.
Jeanne stayed till around five then I walked out to see her new vehicle and look it over. Took some pics of her. Will add one later here.
It got quite warm today but this evening we had a couple hard downpours. Tomorrow is going to be a lot cooler. Only about 69 or 70. I like that!
My nephew, Gavin, and his girlfriend, Cortney, had their baby boy at 1:38 this morning. ( The 28th) She was having a hard time so they took it C-section. She had been in the hospital all day and night. A little boy. They named him Xander Lyric Miller. Quite a name huh? They are living with her father up near Watertown. Her father retired from the military. Jane is driving up tomorrow to see them so I'll find out more after that.
That's all for now.
Take care everyone.

Sunday, June 26, 2011-Tail Bone Hurts
I haven't been this uncomfortable sitting since before my surgery. I really done a job on it. My insides are hurting a bit also in my liver area. It's an uncomfortable aching. I don't like that. This fall has done me in I think. Got bruises on my toes and a big one on my left leg, on the front bone of the lower area. Didn't notice it yesterday. My shoulders hurt. I'm just a mess again. But it's the sitting part that bothers me the most. After feeling so good all these months. Pisses me off.
Four fox pups are out! Last night the mom brought them all out with her. It was so much fun watching them. I was talking to my daughter on the phone when they came out so I was trying to hold the phone and the camera at the same time. Didn't get the best shots but I'll get better ones soon.
And did I mention that one of the foxes caught one of the Weasels!! That weasel (Ermine) was fighting and squirming while in that fox's mouth. But the chipmunks are happy! I didn't get a picture of that event though. I didn't have my camera in my hand and he was almost to the woods already.
It's another gloomy day. Looks like more rain. Poor Jessi. Hope her birthday party doesn't get rained on. Nina is having her party today. Jessi called me last night first to thank me for her card and then I talked to Nina. Nina will be having a couple of tough months with no income. She didn't get any other job for the summer. I would think she could collect unemployment for those two months but maybe not. She won't get a paycheck till Sept. when she goes back to teaching at the college. She should have had her pay spread out to 12 months. I guess they do have that option.
Guess I better get off this chair. I am not feeling that great.
Have a nice day everyone.

Saturday, June 25, 2011-A Bit Sore Today
My tail bone is sore and both knees are sore and up on the right side of my back. My shoulders hurt a bit also. I should be okay in a few days. That was a hard floor to fall on. But I am up and about as long as I hold on tight to my walker. Can't put too much weight on my left leg because of that knee hurting so much. That one wasn't because of the fall, although it could have made it worse. The right knee was twisted but I think it will be okay. I notice a few toes hurting a little also. Might have bent them a bit when I fell. Anyway. Enough of that!
It sure did rain hard early this morning but now it looks like it might clear up and maybe the sun will be out the rest of the day.
I didn't see the pups this morning because it was raining so hard. But a few minutes ago I did see the daddy fox carrying off that weasel!! So the chipmunks are happy about that! But I'm sure there is a family of them out there. The Ermines are so cute too though. I could see it in the fox's mouth and it was really fighting to get loose. I guess the fox didn't shake it hard enough like they did the squirrels.
Last night it was pouring too much also and the mommy skunk didn't bring the babies down. But she came running out of the woods real fast when she heard me throwing some nuts out to the foxes. Ha! I love all the critters. They sure keep me entertained.
The trial was stopped this morning before it even got started. Some legal issue. So now it won't be back till Monday morning. It was supposed to go all day today too. Bet those jurors are mad.
I'm not going to be doing much today.
Have a nice day everyone.

June 24, 2011-I Fell This Morning
Today did not start out too well. I was in the kitchen getting breakfast. I had just opened the refrigerator door and my slipper toe did not slide as I turned. Sort of like when you scuff your toe. I got knocked off balance and down I went onto that hard concrete floor. Right on my ass. I felt my right knee twist as I fell. I had a hold of the door for a second and I think that helped from really crashing hard. So wonder I didn't break it. I hurt my tail bone and my left thumb a little. I tried to avoid using my hands fearing another broken wrist. I got myself in a sitting position and decided how I was going to get up. I felt like nothing was broke, thank God! Then I slid on my butt to the rug then got on my knees and crawled into the living room to my coffee table. There is a step stool under it so I got that out and backed myself up to it and pushed till I got my butt onto that and then pushed backwards and got myself up onto the coffee table and then I could stand from there. Sure took the breath out of me for a bit but I'm okay. I took two Ibuprofen. My left knee was hurting all day yesterday and now I have a sore right knee but hopefully that will go away. The worst hurt is on my tail bone right now. That's all I need is something going wrong in that area after all I've been through with the surgery. The trouble with falling it knocks the insides around too much. I can feel a slight discomfort in my right back area. That area always bothers me.
Thank heavens nothing broke. So now I'm trying to watch the trial and sit as comfortable as I can but have to keep getting up or moving because of the tail bone.
I won't go to any doctor unless I feel that something isn't right or is getting worse.
Other than that the sun has come out for a while and it's going to be a hot and humid day. I had just looked out my bedroom window this morning after all that happened and saw a deer going into the woods. Didn't catch it in time to get a photo. Then a few minutes later I looked out and there was the daddy fox sitting there. I kept watching and the two pups came running out. One climbed the tree. The daddy came over to get some food and made the pups go back into the woods though so I didn't see them again.
Last night around 6 pm I was looking out and there was one lonely pup all by himself snooping around on top of the rock wall. He seemed so tiny. Then he came down the wall and into the area under my window. I was trying my hardest to get some good pics but I didn't. I did get some video of him though. He had found one of the treats outside my living room window. Boy, did he pick that up and run with it. back to the woods. never saw him again. These pups are so adorable to watch. I'm not sure just how many are out there yet. All I have seen at the same time is two. But I'm figuring there are more. If the dad was watching two then the mother was probably with the others. There are usually four.
It was a rainy yesterday here. Rained a bit this morning and we could get some scattered showers all day today.
My brother Rich called this morning. He and Ann are heading out to Geneva, NY for Ann's daughter's wedding tomorrow. They didn't have anyone to watch their dog and I guess Rick thought I could. I told him it would be too traumatizing for my birds and that I couldn't take him out to walk him. So he thought maybe they'd just get a motel room that accepted dogs out there. But they had already booked their room at the castle out there where the wedding reception is going to be. Hope they find a solution. I would have taken Rudy if I could have. He's such a nice little dog.
By the way. Rick said his truck runs so good now. They put a whole new back end in it. Over $4,000 it would have cost but rick had the extended warranty on it. So it didn't cost him anything. Not even labor.
My brother Steve is heading either to Ashville, NC tomorrow or to NH to see his daughter, Alysha. Not sure where exactly.
Jane and Savey will be going to the wedding out in Geneva tomorrow. They have a room at the castle also. They can afford it..Ha! No one else is going though. We really don't know Ann's daughter.
So that is all for now. Take care everyone and have a nice weekend wherever you are.

June 22, 2011-Rainy Day
It has rained all day. Had some pretty good downpours also. I got caught in one. I went out today to Walmart. It wasn't raining or maybe just a sprinkle but when I was inside I could hear the heavy rain hitting the roof. When I walked out it was coming down steady but I went to my car anyway. I don't mind a little rain on me. Then I stopped at Agway and on the way home from there it came down heavy. I waited in the car for a few minutes when I got home but then I figured what the heck. I might as well get real wet. So I did and it felt good!! I changed when I got inside.
Before I went to Walmart I rode to Ilion to Steve's Jewelers on Otsego Street to have him look at my rings. He told me what they were worth in gold and what they'd sell for wholesale as is. I want to sell them on Ebay but I really don't trust that place any more and I don't have a Paypal account any more. My Pearl Mabe is worth the most. He said not to sell that for any less than $450. The other two are $250 each and one is $125. I paid $900 each for two of them in 1982. I wish I knew someone that could buy them or even one of them. Otherwise I'll have to take a loss and sell them for the gold that's in them. But then I'd only get $450. But It's better than nothing and I need the money right now. I had them on Ebay at one time but never sold them. I always put pictures up also. I sold a lot of stuff on Ebay at one time but never really made anything by the time I paid for all the ads etc. But it wasn't anything expensive. Old Whiskey decanters etc.
Debby stopped over last evening for about an hour or so. She had been doing her laundry in Herkimer. She's on 10 hour shifts now at the Remington Arms and works Saturdays also. She hates her job but there's nothing else out there for her right now she says. And she had taken yesterday off because her back was killing her. She's having lots of back problems now. She's always had some back problems since a car accident years ago. Her foot is hurting all the time too. She can't get in to see her doctor till July.
My back has been pretty good for a few days. Knock on wood.. And that groin pain has subsided. Every once in a while I'll feel it a little but not like it was. I'm not complaining! I'm still here and alive. Never expected to be at this time.
I still haven't seen the fox pups again. It's only been four days... The mom keeps hiding the treats all over near the bushes so the pups can find them after dark I think. I have heard them after dark. But the other night there was one growling at another. My poor Granny fox gets chased away now if the parents of the pups come around. She went running fast this evening around the front of the building again. Then too many people see her and get nervous. I'm always afraid someone will call the cops and kill her. Just like they did the poor Porcupine a couple years ago. One guy down the street always calls the cops. He's always afraid his beagle will get attacked. I still can't believe that cop shot him as he sat in a tree. They all think that any animal out during the day has rabies. Well they don't!
The trial got done at noon today because the judge had a prior commitment. They are still talking forensics so it's boring.
So that's all for today. It's going to hot and humid here the next few days. Yuck! I was happy that it stayed in the 60's today because of all the rain.
Take care everyone.

June 20, 2011-Another Sunny, Warm Day
Looks like another nice day in these parts! I don't mind if it gets near 80 degrees because the humidity is real low. I don't even have my air on yet. Just the fans.
That throbbing pain in my groin isn't there this morning so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it has gone.
I was expecting to watch the trial all day but the judge dismissed court till tomorrow morning. He's real mad at the lawyers right now and told them they would be at court for the full day on Saturday this week and will have to be there at 8:30 in the mornings from now on.
I haven't seen the fox pups again. The mom is out here a lot and takes treats into the bushes but for some reason she's not letting them come out in the open. So I'll be patient. I know I'll be seeing them again soon.
I'll be back later maybe. have a nice day everyone.

June 19, 2011-Sunny Morning-No Fox Pups Sighted
It's a beautiful morning so far. The mom to the pups was here this morning a few times but I did not see the pups. She must have made them stay in the woods. Or maybe someone was outside upstairs. They sit out there now and smoke. There's four smokers upstairs now. It must stink in that hallway. It stinks downstairs from just one smoker.
I had to go over to Agway at 9:30 am to get more critter food. Then I came right back home. That pain in my groin is still there and throbbing. I don't like that because that cancer could be spreading now to other organs. If it hits my kidneys I'll be in some pain. I know I'll be in a lot of pain eventually but thought I could at least get through this summer without any.
I've been researching "Groin Pain" but it could be so many things. I used to get some pain if I pulled a muscle but this is different. The trouble with this is it affects my leg also. I hate going to the doctor but if I have to just to maybe have her do an ultra sound in that area to tell me what it might be. If it is the cancer then there's nothing I can do about it. I'll wait and see how bad it gets this coming week. Right now I can tolerate it okay. It's more of a throbbing pain. Not a stabbing pain.
I have so much to do around here yet. So much to get rid of. Guess I better start doing more just in case.
Jasper slept in the living room last night under a table. She was walking around at 5:00 am so I had to get up and put her in the tub. I am so tired lately from not getting enough sleep. She wanted out of the tub at 10:00 am so now she's wandering around the apartment again. She feels so much lighter. She still won't eat. Only now and then she will eat a tiny bit of food. Right now she's sitting on my foot right here at the computer. She always does that.
I'm just going to try and take it easy today. Maybe there will be some good movies on TV.
Hope you all have a nice day!!

June 18, 2011-Warm And Sunny And A Surprise Today!

Yesterday and today has been in the low 80's. At least it's sunny and not too humid today. But I still don't like the heat. I went over to Walmart at 8:30 last night and it just started raining real hard. Loved it! I got a little wet as I was going in but it felt good. Didn't get home till after 9:30. Seemed weird being out so late but in the summer I like going after dark because it's cooler.
My back is a lot better. I have a weird pain in my right lower groin area today. It was there all day but now it's gone.
I was awake at 4 am again because of Jasper. She was sleeping under my bed and then started wandering around at that hour. So I had to get up and put her in the tub. She was okay the rest of the morning but of course I didn't get any more sleep. This is the worst year I've ever had with her because of that noise. I don't hear it as much now because of the air conditioner being on. As soon as I shut it off I can hear it.
My cousin Gloria is 65 years old today. We are the same age but she is four and a half months older..ha ha ! I think I might make it to 65 after all. Never expected to though.
I had a nice surprise this morning when I looked out the window. The pups came out with their mom!! She was proud to show them to me I think. I saw two with her so not sure how many there are yet. They were out from 8 am till about 9 and then they went back in the woods. The mom was back a couple times this afternoon but she didn't bring the kids with her. I'm going to love watching them now. I couldn't get the mom and both pups in the same still picture but did get them on video. I'm adding just one here of the mom licking the pup. So cute!!!!!

June 16, 2011-Finally Some Sunny Days!
Yesterday and today are sunny and warmer. It's about time. Yesterday I felt a bit ambitious and cleaned out a few things. Also did some laundry last night. That laundry room was a mess! The washing machine was filthy on the outside. Someone had spilled detergent or something all down the sides and didn't even clean it. I always clean the machines and mop the floor before I start but that was ridiculous. I don't know why no one else ever cleans that room. Bunch of pigs is all I can say.
Today I'm paying for all that I did yesterday. My bones hurt bad and my back is killing me. Can't walk very good. Didn't sleep well. Was awake at 4 am. So it's not a good day. I'm just going to relax as much as I can. I've already taken one Ibuprofen but will take another later if I have to.
Gloria and Aunt Mary and her sister Ronnie were going to come over but I called Gloria and told her I wasn't up to it. So they are going to wait till next week sometime. Ronnie has a couple old pictures of my mother that she wants to give me. I love seeing old pictures that I haven't seen before. I'm trying to get her copy of my mother and father's wedding day because it will be much clearer than the paper copies that I had gotten before from another Aunt. I'd love to see all Mary's photos but I've never taken the time. maybe this summer I'll ask her to bring her old albums.
Jack is doing better. He can swallow better but his face is still numb on one side. Not sure if he'll be coming to NY this month or not. He might have to wait longer to make sure he can travel. If I were him I'd stay home for another month just to make sure. And where his wife can be with him.
The defense started their side of the Casey Anthony trial this morning. So far it's been boring. He's not as good as the State lawyers are. They are on lunch break till 1:30.
It's already 81 degrees here. At least it's not humid. But more rain is coming in for tomorrow. Then it's back to sunshine for Sat. and Sun. And warmer. My air conditioner is working but now I have to empty the water every so often. It's not working like it should be. It's so hard to drain. I'll be busting a blood vessel leaning over like that. I can't squat like other people because of the polio. Don't have those muscles. So I have to bend from the waist and try to pick up the pan of water. I always spill some and it pisses me off. But at least the air is cool so far.
Still no fox pups. I'm waiting patiently..ha ha !
Have a nice day everyone.
Another Rainy Day-June 14, 2011-Jessi's Birthday
I totally forgot it was my Granddaughter, Jessi's birthday today! I couldn't believe it. This is a sure sign of old age I guess. Ha! Ha! She'll probably be looking for her card in the mail today. I feel bad. But she will get it tomorrow. I made one quick early this morning and got it out before the mail man came. She is six years old.
I went over to Walmart last night to pick up a couple items. It started sprinkling just as I was coming out but it didn't amount to much.
The Casey Anthony trial didn't start till 1 pm today. The state will rest their case tomorrow and on Thursday the defense will start.
I cancelled my water company and won't be getting the bottled water any more. I'll go back to using the tap water. I always boil any water first that I use, even the bottled water. And I can always buy it at the store if I want. Got to save money wherever I can now. If I didn't feed the outdoor critters I'd have enough money but I can't stop now. It's my only enjoyment. And another reason is lifting those heavy jugs all the time. Maybe I won't have as many pains in my back.
I'm trying to figure out what to get rid of next in my apartment. I have too much and need to weed some out of here. A few things maybe my daughter will take or if she don't want them maybe she will take them to the Salvation Army for me.
Anyway. Not much going on. Got my birds covered for the night and now I get some peace and quiet. Jasper is sleeping under something but I'm not sure where she is. She did sleep all night in the tub for the first time in ages and this morning she ate some of her turtle sticks for the first time in months!! I was happy about that because those have all the nutrients she needs. She wouldn't eat any more shrimp or worms when I offered them to her this past week. She still seems restless though and wanders all over the apartment before settling down. But then it's only for a couple hours and she's back to wandering again. If she comes out I'll put her back in the tub and hope she sleeps all night again. I'm sick of getting woke up in the middle of the night with her.
That's all for today. Take care everyone.

June 13, 2011-Still Damp And Gloomy
The past two days have been cool and damp. yesterday it rained but today it's just cloudy. It has gotten to 65 degrees today. I hate the dampness. In the mornings I feel damp and icky because of the humidity so I turn the heat on a bit. I have mold and mildew in my walls also so I try to keep that from coming inside my bedroom area. Bad enough I have to breathe that terrible air all the time.
Not much happening. The Casey Anthony trial dismissed at noon today because the prosecution's last witness won't arrive till tomorrow. And they won't be starting till 1:00 pm. The Prosecution will be all done either by tomorrow or Wednesday and then the defense team can try to spin their story about what happened. I can't wait to hear that! No one is going to believe a word of it. This whole case might wind up in a couple weeks when it goes to the jury. Maybe sooner.
No fox pups yet. :(

Rained All Day-June 11, 2011
It was a quiet day. It was rainy and cool. I didn't do a thing. Watched the trial of Casey Anthony till 1 pm and then watched some movies on TV the rest of the day. Not much to say for this day. But I felt pretty good.
I'm a little ticked off at my air conditioner though. It seems to be filling up with water too much and it shuts off till I empty it. The drain is near the bottom of the thing. It's one of those portable ones. I have to lay an almost flat pan underneath the drain. It's very hard to bend over and try to pick the pan up without spilling it all over. My rug was all wet the other day. I'll have to bleach that area so mold don't grow. I think maybe the air conditioner is getting old and it's not working right. It's supposed to circulate the water. But it has been humid and that can make it accumulate too fast in the holding area. But it never did that before. I don't like bending over. It puts too much pressure on my head and eyes. I've had blood vessels break in my left eye lately. Not on the outside where you can see it but on the inside of the eyeball. Like when you see floaters but mine is a long thick ribbon that blocks my vision till the blood dissipates. Really weird. I won't bother with any eye doctors unless it gets worse. It's happened three times so far. And the last time was a couple weeks ago.
I still have not seen any fox pups. Just all the adults. Those darn skunks! Tonight one sprayed at another and stunk up my apartment. Not too bad though. I'm used to it. It's better than smelling that horrible cigarette smoke. It was seeping under my door today and when I went out to get my mail it stunk so bad in that hallway. The woman down the hall smokes all the time and when she opens her door it comes out in clouds.. She gets mad at me when I mention any smoke. I really wish they'd make a law so no one in these senior buildings can smoke anywhere. Not even in their apartments. Especially when it seeps out from their apartments and bothers everyone else. Then a few of them stand outside right by the front door and if I go out I have to walk through it. Disgusting! I complained to the landlord but he said there was nothing he could do as long as they were outside. But we only have one way in and out and it doesn't seem right that we who don't smoke should be subjected to that. I can't even sit out there in the evenings like we used to. We have five people that smoke here now. It used to be only two for lots of years till just this past year.
Okay. That's enough complaining. Time to go to bed. Have a nice Sunday everyone.

June 10, 2011-Going To Be Cooler! Yaaay!
It's starting out cloudy this morning but it's supposed to be a nice day and much cooler and no humidity. I am so glad. I want to get out later to get some groceries.'I still have not spotted any of the baby foxes. They were out at this time last year.
Today is my baby brother, Mike's, birthday. He is 48 years old. He was born the day my mother died. He was the 11th child in our family. Seems so long ago but still remember that day so well. Mom would have been 88. I sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have her with us all these years and how she would have changed some of our lives. It would have been nice to have a mother to talk to but God had other plans and that's life. We never know what the future has in store for us. That's why we have to enjoy each day we have. It might be our last.
These baby starlings are driving me crazy. There must be 20 or 30 of them. They eat all the nuts as soon as I throw them out. The squirrels then get mad and want me to throw them more. I just can't keep up with them all. I feel like one of those "Hoarders" on TV but mine are outside critters..Ha! Ha!
It's time to eat my breakfast and get the birds uncovered and start my day. I've been up since 6:30. But that is my quiet time to do whatever I have to before I uncover my own critters and then they drive me crazy for the rest of the day.... Never a dull moment around here!. And Jasper is still sleeping in my bedroom. Have to get her water ready also. She's usually over on my foot while I'm at the computer but she's late sleeping this morning.
Have a nice day everyone.
Update:
I got out to get my groceries today. I went at noon and was back by 1:15 in time to continue watching the trial on TV. It was a beautiful day.
Jeanne called about the time I got home and she came over to visit for a while. We watched some of the trial in between chatting. She left at five.
I also received a return e-mail from my brother Mike. I had sent him one this morning to wish him a happy birthday. He and his girlfriend are heading into the mountains out there in Vermont where he lives. He loves hiking.
My oldest daughter called me also. I was surprised because she had just called last week. Sounded like she was outside calling. Maybe she was using someone's cell phone. She wouldn't say. The boys were off playing by some creek near there. I could hear them yelling to her. They are all fine anyway.
So it was a good day.

Wednesday, June 8, 2011-It's Very Hot!
It's getting so hot today. Supposed to go near 90 degrees. I don't like it that hot. But I'm inside where it's cool and hope my air conditioner keeps working.
I went over to Walmart late last evening after the sun went down. I knew I wouldn't be going out for the next two days when it was so hot. I have to go out Friday to get groceries but by then it will be cooler and not as humid.
I put a couple dishes of water out for the birds and critters in case they can't find any. I always feel bad for them in hot weather. Especially the foxes. But they usually just come early in the morning and late at night when it's this hot. And they never touch the water so I figure they have a water source up there in the woods somewhere.
I'm watching the Casey Anthony trial. At least that keeps me occupied all day. Of course I'm up and down doing things all the time also and I get an hour and a half at their lunch break and 15 minutes recesses or five minute breaks all day too.
Finally got a letter written to a girl I went to school with. She had written to me back in February and I never answered her till now. I feel bad about that but every time I would think about it I'd forget again. She lives down in Uniondale, NY. I have also forgotten to make birthday cards for a couple of the women that live here. Sometimes I feel obligated to give them a card even if I don't want to. But I'm not going to do it any more if I don't. I don't have the ink to spare any more either.
My cousin Jack, who lives out in CA, has had a minor stroke. He couldn't swallow but thought nothing of it till it happened again. So he's in the hospital getting all kinds of tests right now. Hopefully he will be okay. I'm thinking about you Jack and praying you will be fine enough to come home this summer to visit your family. It's so scary when something happens. We are all getting to that age now. But his wife Jeannie will take good care of him and she has lots of family out there.
That's all for now folks. I hate this computer chair. It cuts the circulation off from my legs. If I'm not back later I'll be back in a couple days.
Take care everyone and for those that are in hot weather, be careful and stay hydrated and cool.

Monday, June 6, 2011-Bright Sunny Day-Getting Hotter
It's a nice day but this week is going to be a scorcher. I guess if I have to go out I'll be going very early in morning or very late in the evening. Going to be up in the 90's by Thursday! I don't like that.
The electricity went off at midnight and didn't come on till this morning. Not sure when. Sometime between 4 and 6 am. I was wondering why but then one of the ladies here told me the village is working on something and the electricity will be off again tonight at the same time. I guess there was a notice in the community room but I don't go in there. They should have posted it over the mail boxes.
I'm not going to do too much today. I feel tired. Jasper was walking around at 5 am. So I never did get much sleep all night.
I'm watching the trial on TV. They are on lunch break right now. It's getting very interesting now.
I've got to call the pharmacy to order more Ostomy supplies before I forget and run out of bags.. My belly is a bit irritated. I changed my flange this morning. It's the adhesive that is doing it now I think. The area around my Stoma is doing good.
I weighed myself at Rick's the other day and I now weigh 165 lbs.!! I have gained 40 lbs since November..Ha! Ha! That's how much I weighed before all this started a few years ago. My clothes don't fit so well though. Maybe I should go to the Salvation Army and get some large sized shirts. I can't afford to buy any new ones. Sometimes I will find a blouse or shirt in Walmart marked down to $3.
I hate doing laundry but it's getting about that time to be doing it again. I have to be in the mood and that isn't often..
I'm still waiting for the baby foxes. One of the ladies seen a baby woodchuck in the parking lot this morning. I was wondering about the woodchucks. I only saw that little one one time. Glad to know they are still around.
The girl next door on the hill said there is a Pheasant wandering around also!! I'd love to see that!! But I don't go out to the front much.
That's all for now. Have a nice day everyone.

June 4, 2011-Had A Nice Day Yesterday

The falls below Rick and Ann's place.

The view of the water and little falls from their deck. Directly across the water is where he sees the Otter and the Blue Heron sits at the top of the falls sometimes.
Yesterday turned out real nice. I was planning on taking my car over to the muffler shop but my brother, Rick, called in the morning and said something went terribly wrong with his transmission in his truck and was going to drive it to Carbone's in Utica. He said he'd pay for my car repair if I could get to Utica and then give him a ride back to Munnsville where he lives. So I called the muffler shop in Herkimer to see if that guy had already gotten the pipe. He hadn't so I told him to cancel it and I'd get one put on in Utica.I was a little afraid of driving that far with my noisy car. I called Rick back and said I'd meet him at Carbone's but since the muffler shop was just up the street from where he had to go he said to go straight to the shop and he'd walk up. So I got ready and left the house around 10:45. Had to stop and get gas first then I got on 5S to head for Utica. And right as I turned onto 5S there was a road block! I thought they'd say something for sure about the noise but they were only looking for seat belts and sticker stuff on the windshield. They waved me on by. I would have told them I was on my way to get it fixed anyway.
I get to the Monro Muffler shop up there and they didn't have that pipe in stock either and said they'd have to get it from Oneida. They meet a guy half way though. Then Rick came in after he left his truck off at Carbone's. At first I thought I'd just drive to the Oneida shop but these guys said they wouldn't be able to get me in up there till 5:00. Yikes! No way. Rick had to be to work by five. I asked them how much it was going to cost and they said $134. Damn! In Herkimer they said $85. They said the guy in Herkimer hadn't added the labor yet. I doubt it. I had specifically asked him what the total would be. But Rick said to let them go ahead and do it. He was paying for it. It was going to take till 1:30 before it would be done by the time they could meet a guy half way with the part. So Rick wanted to have lunch at Symeon's across the road. It was a little scary to think about walking over that four lane highway with my crutches but I did it.
We had a nice light lunch. My first time eating out in years. So that was a nice treat for me. And I could use the bathroom there instead of the muffler shop one. They are always so dirty.
We walked back over around 1:10 pm and they had just gotten the pipe. They put it on and then we left. Seemed nice to have a quiet car again. It still sounds a bit louder than it should though but it might just be me.
I drove to Rick's on back country roads that I didn't know about. I'd probably get lost if I tried to go that way again but it was so pretty. And when we got to Rick's road he had me go down a little road first to see the Stockbridge Falls. I'd never seen it from below before. Rick lives on the top of it. His place is so nice with the running water and another little falls in his back yard.
What a beautiful day it was. It was sunny and only in the 60's. Perfect weather! I took some pictures of his back yard. He told me that an Otter comes across the water almost every day and also a Blue Heron. I didn't see either. Sure wished I'd had. That would have been so neat. Maybe next time I will.
I left his place at three and came home.
I went back out later at 8:30 to Walmart to get a few things. Wandered around in there for a while, looking at things. Got home at 9:30. By the time I got to bed last night it was midnight. I felt wide awake so was on the computer doing the pictures I had taken and getting them up on Facebook.
Today I'm just relaxing. Debby had sent me a message on Facebook that she wanted to come over and visit. She never did though and she never called. Don't know what happened with her. Guess she probably ended up going down to Johnstown to visit her kids.
I watched the Casey Anthony trial this morning. They have Saturday sessions from 9 to 1 pm. They are into the forensics now and up to the part where they took samples from her car. There is no way that girl is going to get off.
I am still waiting for the fox pups. The parents were out here later this afternoon but no pups. They are walking behind the building when they leave now. I don't like that. Because they might never bring the pups this far. But I'm sure as the pups get older they will be running over here like all the rest did. I think maybe having that big dog on the other side of the bushes is scaring them from being in that area this year and also the house that is being built. Although I haven't been hearing any noise from that area lately.
It was another nice day but more cloudy. Might get some rain tomorrow.
Today would have been Chris's 62nd birthday. ( My sister who died of cancer in 2006)
I haven't heard a word from her son so I don't know if his girlfriend had the baby yet. I think it was supposed to be born around this time.
So that's all for the past two days! Take care everyone. Enjoy your Sunday.

June 3, 2011-Beautiful Weather
Yesterday it was a lot cooler and no humidity and it felt so good. And today it's starting out beautiful and sunny also. Only going to be about 69 degrees today. I wish it would stay this way all the time. Summers are so hot.
I called Monro Muffler yesterday to get an estimate for my exhaust pipe. They won't know until they check under my car if anything else needs replacing but it will cost around $89 for the pipe. So that hasn't changed much since I had it replaced six years ago, thank heavens. If I feel up to it I might take the car over there today. I don't like waiting though but I'll have to. Everyone is working so I don't want to bother someone to bring me home and take me back. If they get right at it, it might only take an hour.
So I don't yet know what the day will bring but I hope it's a good one!
Have a nice day everyone!

June 1, 2011-I Went Out Today-Very Humid
I waited till 1:00 then went over to Agway and Walmart. We had a thunderstorm this morning and it was very humid again today. I couldn't wait to get back home. I don't have air in my car. That broke years ago. It was noisy but at least it didn't get worse. I had the maintenance man look under my car this morning. He says I have a hole in the exhaust pipe near the manifold. Right where the clamp is. So I guess it's nothing I can put duct tape on..LOL I had that pipe replaced six years ago. It cost me $89 back then so it's probably double that now days. But I hope not. I'm going to call Monro Muffler tomorrow. I would go to Cole Muffler but for some reason I don't trust them now. After reading online in the Topix forums. Seems a lot of people get told they need Power Steering fluid replaced. That's what they told me last year and I let them do it. So now I'm thinking they ripped me off that 50 bucks.
The day turned out pretty nice and the humidity dispersed by late afternoon. Was a bit breezy today also.
Not sure why I'm not seeing the foxes much in the evenings but I'm thinking that some of the tenants are sitting outside upstairs and scaring the foxes. So they are waiting till after dark. Those darn skunks are out there every night though. One stunk up the area last night. Every time that happens I hear about it. They always blame me for it..LOL Skunks have been roaming the streets for years and smelling up the towns. But of course I do have left over nuts and seeds out there and when more than one skunk comes they fight over it. Sometimes I will hear them fighting. Not really fighting but yelling at each other. I will open the window up and yell at them. They are right under my window and I could even touch them. That's how close they are sometimes. So it is bad when they spray. It doesn't bother me but the lady upstairs complains..
Oh! I got Jasper to eat some shrimp today! If she likes it and will eat that I will give her some every day. I had some frozen in the fridge so decided to try it. I was very happy that she ate it all. She still wanted out of the tub though later so I let her wander around. She was wandering around at 5 am this morning. She slept under my bed . So I've been awake ever since.
Guess I better go to bed. I drank my Chamomile tea. It helps relax me at night.
My knee was killing me yesterday and this morning till I took the Ibuprofen. I feel it again tonight but I won't take any more till tomorrow. I still have to be careful.
My daughter, Ginny, called me this afternoon. She's still in TN. Says she's doing okay. But she never tells me the whole story anyway. I filled her in on everything that I knew about with the family. She said the boys are helping a farmer down the road and making a few bucks. That's good for them. They have some chickens now also. Dave is still out in MN. She still won't let me know where she's at so I can't send the boys anything. She said they always bring out the books I made for them. They love looking at the critters. And they still have all the DVD's I've sent them. At least Ginny has electricity! Ha! And still has the DVD player that heather gave her. Portable one. They don't have a TV. And she talks about hauling water. Heaven only knows how they are living. I'm glad she can call me now and then anyway. She turned 46 on May 18th. She doesn't celebrate birthdays though. Never makes the boys a cake she said. She says what they don't know they can't miss. I wonder how they will be when they get older. Eli will be 12 soon. Poor kids.
Okay. It's off to bed I go. Take care everyone.
