The deer came out of the woods yesterday. I hadn't seen them in a few days because of the heat. Poor things. But yesterday they were enjoying themselves. The fawns came out without their mom in the afternoon. They are growing fast and getting braver. I'm sure the mom was nearby. I just couldn't see her. The fawns stayed out there for quite a while, wandering around. Then they finally got spooked and ran into the woods.
I've seen the fox pups a couple times but still haven't gotten very good pics of them. I've only seen two. I did catch them climbing a tree and sliding down. Got that on video on Youtube.
Nina and the girls were over the other day. I had her stop at Agway for a bag of critter food. It was too hot for me to go out that day. She brought me some fresh veggies from her garden. Zucchini and yellow squash and the best tasting cucumbers I've had in years! Hope she brings me more.. The cucumbers I bought in the store last time tasted moldy. I couldn't eat them at all and threw them in the garbage. I didn't even know Nina was growing a garden. She said it's the first time in years. Great job!
Nina will be back to teaching in a couple weeks. She didn't take that other part time job because it would have interfered with her college one. She's always looking for better jobs that pay more though. Her friend, Kathy Jo, is working in the Governor's office and she is in charge of getting new people so she might get Nina a job. Nina would double her pay and she said she'd move to Albany area if that happened. Kathy Jo always lands good paying jobs and she don't have a quarter of the degrees that Nina has. But Nina always wanted to put her kids first and wait till they were grown. That's why she likes teaching. It gives her more time with the kids. I hope she does get a better paying job someday so she won't be struggling all the time.
I haven't heard from anyone so I guess that's all for now.
Take care everyone. Be back soon.
Tickle-Tickle Ha! That's one way to get them laughing.
