Wow! It's already the 16th of August! Pretty soon the kids will be back to school and it will be fall. Yikes! Nina is stopping by later with more cucumber and squash. I've really been enjoying them. Nothing like fresh veggies!
Debby stopped over Sunday. She went to the Miller reunion on Saturday. Jeanne, Jane & Savey and Pam were there also. It was quieter there this year. Karen is going to have it a week earlier next year. She hopes more people will come. Because she always seems to have it the same week as the Canal days in Little Falls and some are at that.
We did get some rain this week anyway. That was nice. Today it's nice. Less humid.
Debby had her colonoscopy yesterday. Haven't heard from her yet so I'm presuming all went well. But she will be having surgery soon for an Ovarian cyst and water in her tubes. She hasn't been working overtime at the Remington Arms so she's had more time this summer.
She got a notice from the village about feeding wild cats in the neighborhood. She has been feeding a mother cat that had kittens. Those are the ones Jane took and gave homes to. Jane tried to trap the mother but never could. Now she's had more kittens and Jane has those two. The poor things were all wet and covered with maggots outside Debby's place, near her porch. She called Jane and they washed them off and Jane took them and is bottle feeding them for a couple weeks. They were only about four weeks old. Just two. The other one didn't make it. The maggots had eaten through it.
The animal control officer in Ilion will trap them and take them to a farm out in the country I have heard. No one seems to know what happens to them. I wouldn't be surprised if he's killing them. Debby has to go to court about that I think. She can be fined $100 a cat. There are other people on that street that are feeding them also. But Deb better be careful now. Jane has spent more time and money on those wild cats than any village would. She gets all their shots and has the vet check them over. If she had caught the mother she would have paid to have it spayed.
Nina was going to go to Pam's wedding reception but after Debby talked to Pam at the reunion it seems Pam doesn't wants kids even at the reception. So Debby's daughter, Danielle won't be going either. And neither will Nina. At first Pam had told me that kids would be allowed at the Sprite Club for the reception. Better off if they aren't. It's going to be one drunken party.
Mike sent me an e-mail when I asked for his address. He said he's not going either. He said the only wedding he will be going to is his own daughters when they get married someday. I had sent Mike an e-mail because his adoptive father, Sam Long had died and I read it online. Even though Mike hadn't talked to Sam in 15 years he still went to the services for his sister's sake only.
Jim should be back from out west by now. Patty was back the 14th but she flew. Jim was riding his bike all the way back. Patty said they had a great time out there with Matthew. I never see any pictures from Matthew on his Facebook page though..
I'm doing about the same. Noticed some burning in my groin where that tumor is but it went away.
I might go out tonight to Walmart for a few things. Then in the early morning I'll have to go over to Agway for the critter food.
I've seen the fox pup a few times and the three fawns were out here yesterday without their mom. They are growing up fast.
So that's about it for now. Take care everyone and have a nice weekend. I probably won't be back for a few days.
