January 15, 2011-Saturday

This was the back hill yesterday. The sun was so pretty for a change. But it was so cold. Only in the teens. Now today we are back to the clouds and snow. But at least it is getting up to 25 degrees! Ha!

I haven't been doing too much the past couple days. A little tired. And it's been way too cold to go out but I am hoping to get out today if it gets up to at least 20 degrees. It's supposed to snow later today and tomorrow so if I don't get out today then I'd have to call someone to take me to the store. I don't like doing that. I'm just hoping my car doors open and I can unlock them. They always freeze. I keep forgetting to grease the doors. I do have some kind of lock spray. It's only 10 degrees right now at 10:30 in the morning. It was 4 degrees at 7 am. Yikes!
The man upstairs was so nice to clean the snow off my car yesterday or the day before. Not sure when. I didn't see him do it. One of the other ladies told me. So at least I won't have to scrape and shovel. Just warm the car up if I can get into it.
Haven't heard from anyone the past couple days.

I went out before 11:00 this morning. Got my car door unlocked and had to pull on the door to get it unstuck but I got in. The spray that I had is no good. It wouldn't work but I got the door unlocked anyway. My car didn't start up as fast as usual. But it's been so cold and it is an old 1993 Oldsmobile. But it's a good car yet. Hope it lasts as long as I do..LOL
It's a good thing I went when I did because the snow flakes were already coming down and when I came out of Walmart an hour later I had to wipe my car off. I also went to Aubuchon for my bags of critter food. By the time I got all my stuff hauled into the apartment it was about 1:30. The snow is coming down heavy now. So glad I went out!! I was almost going to wait till about 2 pm when they said it would be warmer. When I went out it was about 16 degrees. It felt good to get out in the fresh air though. It never did get up to 25 degrees. Maybe about 20 here.
Got everything I need for another ten days or so. Got a few things I didn't need of course, like Russell Stover candies. I found this bag of individually wrapped chocolates. They come in a 20 oz bag and were only $5.98. I was glad to see they still had some left because that is what I bought last time I went out. And I ate them all! Ha! Ha!
I had to change my Ostomy Flange and bag again before I went out. The other one had been on for three days and it started to come unglued. Got a little irritation again around my Stoma. I put the special powder on it like I have been. The people that have their Stomas sticking out from their bellies are lucky. They can wear flanges for 7 days before they have to change them. I don't think I'd want to go that long though. I think every three days is good. I have the drainable ones and clean the bags a few times a day. I flush it out with water. That might make the glue come undone faster also but I want it clean. Just wish I wouldn't keep having problems with it sticking. When I am standing up without the flange on it looks like I have this big, deep hole in my belly. I've seen pictures of Stomas that stick out about one inch from the bellies. Some even further. I am glad that I won't have to be dealing with this for years like some people do. I can take the little time that I'll have with it because it sure has made my life easier for now.
My left knee is killing me. Too much walking today and I also have a problem with my left thumb joint. The area between my thumb and wrist. That has been hurting since last year. Just seems to be getting worse. I do use that hand a lot more since I broke the right wrist last Feb. That right hand is all messed up and still hurts all the time. But that is the least of my problems. I have sort of ignored it.
I am going to relax this afternoon and watch some movies on TV. I like Oprah's new Network, OWN. It has good movies on at times.
