The past couple days have been beautiful. No humidity and breezy. It rained early this morning but was a brief shower. A bit foggy because the heat is moving in. I haven't been doing too much. Still trying to get a few things cleared out of here. Going through a few boxes and weeding out more papers.
The Doe has been here every day but I never see the fawns. Wanda, who lives in one of the upstairs apartments called me yesterday and said there are two does out there. I missed them. But now I know why one of the fawns looked a bit bigger. I'm thinking they each have one and hang around together. Last year a smaller doe was always with the other one. Sort of watching over the fawns while the other one ate. Hard to know unless I see them all together and check out the other doe to see if she's been nursing.
Wanda called last evening to tell me that a baby fox was out on the back hill! She was sitting out there with a couple other people and saw it sitting near the woodchuck hole. It's too far over for me to see it though so I have to wait till they come my way one of these days. But I was happy to hear that they are finally coming out of the woods. I can't wait to get some pictures.
My belly was itching again yesterday from the flange. I can't figure out why. I am using the powder and barrier wipes all the time now. I just start feeling good and then somehting else starts to bug me.
The tumor that is in my groin area is growing too. It's starting to bother me a bit. I sure hate to have surgery again but if it gets too big I might have to. But for now I'm leaving it alone. My right knee is having very slight weakness and pain. Not sure why. That knee hasn't bothered me in years. I just get the other one feeling good and now this one starts...
I haven't been taking any Ibuprofen this week. Instead I have been taking White Willow Bark capsules. Not sure what it will do but as long as my pain has subsided I am not going to take the Ibuprofen. Give my liver a break for a while.
I'm not looking forward to the days ahead. It's going to be near 90 degrees again. I have to go out tomorrow morning for a few things and then I hope I won't have to go out till the humidity lessons a bit. I wish it would stay around 70 or 75 all summer. I shouldn't complain. Look at all those poor people who have been flooded in MN and all the people that lost their homes in CO. That fire is the worst they've ever seen out there and it's still going. I heard over 600 homes have been lost. I can't believe the pictures. I lived just outside of Colorado Springs in the early 70's and we'd go into town and into the mountains a lot. It was so beautiful. There was this huge hotel. I can't remember the name right now but it's well known. Sure hope the fire didn't hit that. Will Roger's Monument is up there also. I don't even want to think of the poor animals that got burned to death. It's so sad.
Well. It's time to get my birds up. Have a nice weekend everyone.

June 24, 2012-Saw Twin Fawns This Morning!
I've been watching and watching for the fawn to come back out with it's mom but I have only seen the mom. But this morning at 7 am I saw the mom coming over and then I saw the one fawn run by. I had my camera up high so I could get better video over that darn rock wall. Then I saw the mother go back a ways and there were two fawns! I was so surprised because I only thought she had that one. Now I know she wasn't pregnant when I thought she was or she would have been a lot bigger. She just eats a lot and stays fat and healthy I guess. They were so cute. Running and jumping. I could hardly get pictures of them. And here I am trying to get into the living room to that window when they went that way and then back in the bedroom. It's not easy with a walker..LOL. I managed to get some video of them and a few pictures. The photos are dark though. The sun hadn't hit that area yet. They weren't out there long and the mother had them headed back up to the top of the hill and over beyond my view. I'll be waiting tomorrow morning but maybe she will bring them back later this evening. That was my excitment for the day.
I haven't been doing much. The weather has been nicer though. Cooler. Today it's 80 but not humid. This week will be only in the high 60's so they say. And some rain.
I broke down and asked Nina to bring me some ice cream Thursday. Maple Walnut. She got it at Stewarts. That's where I always used to buy it. It's very good. But I won't do that again for a while. I don't want to get in the habit.
My back has been pretty good but yesterday it was bothering me on the left side hip area. I didn't take any Ibuprofen. And I haven't taken any today. I'm going to try and stay off that stuff now. I am going to start taking White Willow Bark to see if that helps. It has the same ingredient as aspirin. (Silicin) Not sure how I'll feel but I'll try it for a while.
I thought I had my flange under control but now it's itching like crazy again. I'm still using the Stomahesive powder and barrier wipes before I put it on. Seems like I'm allergic to everything now. Drives me nuts. I just get feeling better and now this has to bug me again. It's always something. I think I had three good days and that was it. I can't take Benedryl or anything like that because I'm allergic to that stuff too.
Lots of graduations this weekend. My niece, Kailyn graduated but her party isn't till July 15th. I won't be going to that though. She hasn't sent out any cards yet.
I'll have to be going out either tomorrow or early Tuesday morning. I never stock up on groceries . That forces me to get out anyway. I love it when I can go and not have any pains.
That's it for now. Take care everyone.
PS.... Jasper, my turtle is trying to get in the corner where all my computer wires are. She's very persistant so I have to get her out of here. She still hasn't eaten anything. It's been way over a month now. She won't stay in her water and she's very restless all the time. Don't know what I'm going to do with her. I really should have her put to sleep I guess. You wouldn't believe how strong she is though when she wants to get in a particular spot. Right now she's pushing my foot out of the way and she's mad because I put a container in front of the wires. Now she's trying to get on top of it. Once she finds a spot she wants she never forgets and will keep going back. She's been sleeping in the living room underneath a table that I have in a corner with a cover over it that hangs to the floor. She has her privacy there. I wish she'd get back in there..

The twins. This is just a clip off my video so it's not that good. But aren't they adorable!!

June 20, 2012-Hot, Hot, Hot!
It got up to 91 today and it was so humid. I am so glad my air conditioner is working good. Even though I have to catch the water now in a pail. So much for a portable. But it's still nicer than having a big box thing in the window. I think it was too hot for the foxes and deer today because I didn't see a one. And tomorrow will be just as hot.
Yesterday the Doe came over this way but I couldn't see the fawn. Later I saw the Doe's ears in the bushes and then heard later from the maintenance man that the doe and fawn were way down towards the front of the building in the bushes when he came around the building. But I still never saw them again. The bushes are too high and they were on the other side of them. The ladies down towards the front saw the fawn though. That was thrilling to them. They don't get to see very many animals like I do.
Nina stopped by with the girls for a short while. I had to scan some papers for her. Her scanner isn't working. She had to have them into a place where she's trying to get a part time job for the summer. I had to reset my scanner settings so it would scan as a PDF file. I never have used that setting before. I only use my scanner for pictures, as a jpeg file. Then I mailed them to her e-mail account so she could send them from there.
The girls were anxious to get back home so they could get in the pool. They had a half day of school today and their last half day is tomorrow. Then they are off for the summer.
Salena's hip isn't bothering her any more so she's okay. The doctor took more x-rays but told Nina that it was just overworked muscles. Swimming will be good for her all summer.
On Friday Nina is taking the kids to her old employer's picnic at Green Lakes State Park in Syracuse. She said they always invite her. And Nina likes to stay in touch in case she ever wants to go back to work for the state.. And on Saturday is her sister, Kayla's graduation party. She sure is a busy girl!
I haven't eaten any sweets since Nina gave me the candy for Mother's Day. But I'm craving ice cream now. Ha! So Nina is going to pick me up some Butter Pecan tomorrow. It will sure taste good but my tummy will know that I ate dairy. I'll suffer for a few days..Ha! Ha! I'm not losing weight very fast. I've only lost 7 lbs. so far. But it's better than nothing.
I saw a woodchuck over on the grass today. Not sure if it was one of the babies that were living out back but Wanda said it probably was because the old mother has kicked them out of the hole now. Told them to go off on their own..LOL I wish I could have seen the babies near the hole back there but they were out of my viewing area. Maybe they will wander down by my windows one of these days.
Not much else to talk about. Just about bed time for me. I'm sleeping a lot better now. I keep the head part up a little on the bed and also the knee area. It helps a lot. I can't lie flat. It's too uncomfortable. The air mattress always sank in the middle so I was never really flat on that.
I'll be back soon. Take care everyone.

Look What I Saw Today!-June 18, 2012
I saw something out of the corner of my eye as I was sitting in the living room by the window at 1 pm today. It was the Doe walking along the edge of the lawn. I didn't see the fawn so I went into the bedroom and looked up towards the woods. At first I didn't see it but then I saw this little head peeking up. And then it came walking out of the woods and looking down this way. Looking for it's mom. Then it ran down to where the mom was. But I couldn't get into the living room fast enough to catch them together. The little Fawn was quick. Then it ran back to the hill and the mom went into the bushes where I couldn't see it.
The fawn looks bigger than 11 days old though. But I'm sure the doe was still pregnant on the 7th. Or at least she sure looked like it. And she's still real healthy looking. Maybe she did have the baby sooner. But all I know is they are both healthy and that fawn is so adorable! You can see the video of it coming out of the woods on my Youtube channel.
Still no fox pups yet.
My back is still feeling okay. I didn't know how I'd feel after yesterday. I sure am glad. Or I wouldn't have been able to move from one room to the other as quick, trying to get photos of the doe and her fawn.
Sure made my day!

June 17, 2012-Yay! I Got Out Today!
I was real happy this morning because the pain in my back was lots better and I felt as if I could go out. So I did! I went out at 8 am. Went to Walmart first to get more groceries. I had to walk from one side to the other. I did okay. Then I went to Aubuchon hardware for my critter food. They carry the bags out for me there. I lift them myself when I get home though. I was real careful lifting those 20# bags out of the trunk. I had to make a couple trips out to the car. Then I walked down the log hallway to the trash room to get rid of my garbage. I was getting tired and my hips started to bother me but I did everything I had to do before sitting. It was close to noon before I finally sat down to relax. I even vacuumed today!
I'm hoping when I wake up in the morning I'll feel good. Just hope I didn't overdo it today. But when the pain goes away after almost two weeks it makes you feel like a new person. Of course I think taking two Ibuprofen helps also. I used to take only one a day but now I am taking two and sometimes 4 a day. I won't need that much if the pain stays away.
Still no baby foxes showing themselves. But the lady next door said her husband saw the deer and fawn! I'm sure it's staying close to it's nesting area though. If it's the same doe then the baby is only about ten days old. I wouldn't think it would be going very far. In fact if it is that same deer I'm surprised that she even was out with the fawn. Sure wish Tamara would take a picture of it at that age. They are so adorable.
It was a little more humid today and up in the 80's. Hotter weather is coming. I'm glad I won't have to go out anywhere in that heat.
That's all for now. Take care everyone.
