December 31, 2011-Happy New Year!

I want to wish you all a very happy new year. I hope it's a happy and healthy one. I have been very lucky to have reached this far. I hope to get through this year also. Stay safe everyone, if you are going out to party tonight. Do NOT drive if you've been drinking!
It's warmer today and raining a bit today. I am thinking about getting out to go to Aubuchon Hardware to stock up on outdoor critter food. And to Walmart. I know I said I wouldn't be going out again for a while but I forgot about the critter food and I never want to run out. I can't get out when it's snowing and cold. And I think my car is having a hard time in the cold. It didn't start too good last time.
Tomorrow it's going to be warmer but the stores will be closed so I have to go today. I didn't want to. It might start snowing tomorrow night and into Monday. If it does then I might not get to Uncle Bill's wake. It's too hard for me to walk on snow. I am so , so afraid I'll fall. My legs are way too weak to attempt it these days. But I'm going to wait and see what the weather is like. It's going to be much colder and windier on Monday.
Take care everyone. Happy New Year's Eve!

Update: I did go out. I got to Aubuchon Hardware for my critter food. Then I went to Walmart. That place was so crowded. Never saw the parking lot that packed before. I did manage to get a parking spot not too far away and it was close to the cart bin so I was able to grab one.
I ran into my cousin, Diana, whose dad just passed. She said that he was in real bad shape the last couple days before he died and she was up a lot during the night with him. His lungs were so bad. She said she thinks he knew he was ready to go. I think most people do.
I told her I was going to go to the wake but early so I could get in and out. She said if I needed a wheelchair she'd bring her fathers but I don't want to be using one of those yet. I know they'd like me to come to the service at 4 pm and to the VFW afterwards but I just can't be in that kind of crowd and all the seats are too low there for me to sit in. And by Monday morning the snow and wind will be starting so I'm just going to wait and see how the weather is at 1 pm. If I don't want to drive then someone can pick me up. The funeral home will come and get people also.
I'll be back Monday night to tell you what I did or did not do.
R.I.P. Uncle Bill
