It has been raining steady all day long. We must have gotten about 4 or 5 inches so far. Everything is flooded again in all the counties. It will continue all night and into tomorrow evening. Lots of roads are closed again. All this flooding within a three day period. It seems nothing will ever dry up again. Those poor people in the flood areas. I feel so bad for them.
My apartment is getting worse with the mildew smell. I closed my bedroom door today because I didn't want my bird going in. When I opened it the smell was so overwhelming. I never realize how bad it is till I close the door. And I'm sleeping in that every night. I'm surprised I'm not real sick from it. Maybe I am and just don't know it. I do have trouble breathing at times. I really shouldn't be here in this apartment but I don't want to move.
The maintenance man was here today to put a different heater motor in the ceiling of the bathroom. The other one was starting to make awful noises. So I'm glad that is done. I was talking to him about the conditions outside and why the landlord can't put some gravel or something along the building so the water doesn't keep building up along it. He says every time he mentions it they put him off or change the subject. If I wasn't so tired I'd start a law suit against him but it takes too much time and I don't have the energy any more to fight him.
I guess Vanessa and Sarah had a good time this past weekend down on the shore at their Grandparent's place in VA. My daughter was put up in a motel while the girls took the boys to the beach and kayaking etc. But Ginny would not let all the boys go. One always had to stay behind with her. She said she didn't want to be alone but that isn't really why. That way she always had control if one stayed. But that wasn't fair for the boys.
Sarah has gone back to Nebraska. She will be going to Afghanistan in October. Poor kid. Sure wish she didn't have to go there.
Jeanne's (my sister) cat, Snowball died . He was 12 years old. She buried him over at Jessica's (her daughter) house near the garden.
My sister, Jane, was going to drive down to NY to buy a new vehicle but I'm not sure if she did or not. Haven't heard. Hope she wasn't going in this mess. She'd be running into floods for sure.
Not much else going on. The kids all started school. So now they will be busy with sports all the time. My sister, Pam's little Grandson, Nathan started this year. She had some pics on Facebook. He's so cute. He was all excited to be going to school.
Take care everyone. Hope no one gets flooded out. Stay safe.
