It turned out to be a nice day today! Lots of sun early in the day then it clouded up.It was about 69 degrees. I had to go out to Agway to get more critter food. I got some pantry moth traps also just in case I start getting moths around. I think I got all those larvae but not sure. So if any hatch I hope to catch them. I have to be real careful with these new bags I just got. It's from the same batch. When I got home I only brought one bag inside and just cut the corner and poured some out into two air tight gallon jars. Then I put the bag into a big black plastic bag and tied it up tight. I haven't seen any worms yet in the jars but I know that some were in that bag because of the webs I saw. Just small area. But that means there were larvae trying to make caccoons. The ones that were in the last bag looked like they were half dead so I'm hoping they are all dead in this bag. I didn't see any moths fly out.
I did a couple loads of laundry later this afternoon. And that's about all I did for today.
Mark Hoover's benefit is tomorrow. If I feel up to it I might drive over just to buy a ticket and say hi to everyone. I'll wait and see how I feel tomorrow. It runs from 1 pm till 7 so I will have plenty of time. I haven't heard from Jeanne or Debby so don't know if they are going or not. Steve is going with his girlfriend. Jane said she will probably stop for a few minutes but she has two other benefits to go to. She said eveytime she turns around she's handing money out for something. I sure wouldn't be able to. I will for this one and then I have a wedding shower here at the building for the girl that works in the office. There goes more money.
Have a nice weekend everyone. It's going to be a rainy and cold day tomorrow here.

September 29, 2011-Rainy Days
We are getting some rain now. And it's starting to cool down a lot. I like that. I went out last evening to get some groceries. It was still humid, as it is today. We had a thunderstorm at 4:30 this morning. I got up to unplug my computer just in case. I sure don't want anything happening to it.
Right now at 4 pm it's getting real dark. We are going to get another storm soon so I will have to shut this thing off for a while.
Not much going on to report anyway. Take care everyone.

September 26, 2011-A Bit Too Warm Past Two Days
I don't like this heat and humidity that has returned. It's in the low 80's. Won't be lasting long. By Wednesday it will be raining and by Thursday it will be back in the 50's. And I'll be happy. Ha!
I haven't gone out at all. Been going through more papers and getting rid of more stuff. It seems the more I go through things the more I find. It's a long process, this cleaning out. I sold another item on Craigslist so now I have some money to send to the Hoover's. I don't plan on going to the benefit this Saturday so will mail them a check instead. Hopefully I'll sell something else so I will have some money for the office girl's wedding shower on the 15th. A few bucks here and there helps. I've got some nice blazers I should try and sell on there also. And a couple of winter jackets. It's better than giving them to the Salvation Army. I now think of all the stuff I gave away that I could have sold. But never thought about it before.
There's a woman here at the building that takes anything she can get for free and then gives it to her sisters to sell in garage sales. I used to wonder why she wanted everyone else's stuff when they died. Ha!
Early this morning the deer were right outside my window but I didn't get any photos. As soon as I saw them they saw me too and ran. The Doe and one of her fawns. A couple of the fox pups have been around today. They seem to be here every day now. One of them has the cutest face and eyes. Looks like my old Granny. I miss her.
I better get back to the living room. My birds are calling me.
Take care everyone.

September 23, 2011-Lagging Behind
The past few days have been uneventful really. Been staying in. I did go out on Wed. night to get some groceries. Nothing much going on. My legs and foot aren't feeling that great so trying to stay off them as much as I can. Having arm and shoulder pain more too. Not sure why. Could be just from doing different things around here. Just pushing myself up from chairs all the time makes them hurt more. Maybe those muscles are just getting worn out also. Otherwise I'm feeling okay. No pains that are that noticable in my liver area yet. Minor ones now and then.
I got that moth larvae problem under control. Haven't seen any in a few days now. I did call Agway to tell them about the bag that was full of them critters. Nothing much they can do either since it came from the factory that way. I used all the nuts that were in the bag though. Put them in air tight comtainers. The larvae would crawl up onto the screw top lid and I'd just kill them. Some got thrown out with the nuts of course. I opened another bag but that has a different code date and there's nothing in that one. But the one that I was worried about is still in the trunk of my car and the mice have gotten into it. So maybe I will open that trunk and see moths flying around..LOL I will get moth traps next time I go to Agway. I'll put one in my closet here and one in the trunk just in case. I won't be bringing that bag inside though. I will take my containers out and fill them as needed.
The benefit for Mark Hoover, my cousin's husband, is coming up on October 1st. I don't think I'll be going though. It's too hard to walk around with my crutches and with all the people I'd be afraid I'd get bumped into. And they usually have those folding chairs at those things that I can't get up off of. Then there's the parking. I'd never get close enough. I just can't do it any more. If I had a wheelchair to use it would be much easier but I don't.
Mark has stage four lung cancer now. He was in remission for his throat or esophagus cancer and I guess it spread to his lungs. That's bad. It's probably elsewhere in his body also. It doesn't sound good for him. Poor guy. He's doing the Chemo. I'm not sure if he's still taking the treatments or not. I will have to ask one of my cousins.
It's a bit damp today. Raining on and off.
I saw the deer the other night. They were all right outside where I could see them good. The mom and her two fawns. Of course the fawns are growing up now and most of their spots are gone. They hung around the area for about an hour. It was fun watching them.
I saw three of the fox pups the other day also. Glad to know they are still alive and well. Not sure about the fourth one or the parents. I never see any of the adults any more.
Some guys are working on the roof today so no animals are around.
So that's all for now. Not sure when I'll get back here. Got to upload some of the deer videos to my Youtube sight today.
Take care everyone. Have a nice weekend.

September 19, 2011-Two Beautiful Days!
Yesterday, Sunday, was a perfect fall day! It was in the 60's. Bright blue skies. My brother, Jim, called me in the morning to thank me for his birthday card and to ask me to come out to dinner with them but I told him I couldn't. But I did tell him I might drive over and when they come out after dinner I would take their pictures. And that's what I did. I drove over to the canal area where the Waterfront Grill is and waited in the parking lot thinking they'd be coming out but it got to be 7 pm and they still didn't come and the sun was going down so I decided to heck with it and came home. I did get some pictures of the seagulls in the water and flying around that area. Never got a picture of the sunset because I left too late. Drove up over Putts Hill but it was already gone. Oh well. There will be another time I hope.
I think the kids probably were having a few drinks after dinner. I did not want to walk inside. I was having a lot of pain in my leg all day yesterday.
Today is another beautiful day and a bit warmer. I got some acheness going on in my left arm this afternoon. I better be careful. Might be having a heart attack. It's running from my neck down my arm. I always wanted to die from a heart attack. It's a lot better than suffering through cancer pains at the end.
One of the fox pups were just down close outside my living room window. He came close because I hadn't thrown any food up over the rock wall yet. It was nice to see him up close.
It's supposed to rain tonight or tomorrow.
That's all for now. I've got to keep moving. Can't sit here long. Take care everyone.

September 17, 2011-Brrr!
It is getting cold at night! I just closed my bedroom window for the first time all summer. Well, what I mean is, I took the air conditioner hose out. I have one of those portables. But I could feel the cold air so I took it out of the window. I'll put it back in tomorrow.
Jane stopped by today to show me her new mini van. It's a 2008 Honda Odyssey. Lots of room. They kept the old van and Savey will drive that to work. They will take his old car down to Myrtle beach and leave it at their house.
It was a nice day but cool. Tomorrow might reach 70. It's my brother, Jim's 60th birthday. His wife, Patty is taking him on a boat cruise along the canal tomorrow and then having dinner at the Waterfront. Jane and Savey and Jeanne will meet them for dinner. Jim doesn't know though. He did not want any parties or surprises. So having a few of the family for dinner with them will be nice. I didn't want to go. Don't like eating dinner out anyway.
I finally finished the Alexander book today. I have to order one in order for it to stay up online though so I'll be doing that soon. I have 15 days to order it. It will cost me about $60 after the S&H. But it's a hard cover and I'm getting the best paper.
My left leg is hurting tonight. So now I'm going to bed. It's getting late. Have a nice Sunday everyone.

September 16, 2011-Fall Is Here!
It was only 36 degrees this morning and frost warnings for tonight. Yesterday it only got up to 59 degrees but I like the cooler weather. I went out last evening to get more critter food and some groceries. The air was so nice and fresh. Seemed nice to breathe it in. After all the rain yesterday morning it cleared up nice for the afternoon and the sun came out.
I could still see the moon in the sky this morning. And the sun was hitting the tops of the trees as it was coming up through the woods. I love this weather. Fall is my favorite time of the year.
I'm trying to get my Alexander-Jones Book redone so it's larger. I didn't have the high res photos when I first made it because all the pages were made in Scrapblog back then and they would only let you download a low res copy of it. But when they sold their company they let us have out high res pages for free. I'm making an 8x10 hard cover book this time in Blurb.com. My brother wanted to buy a copy of the smaller one. I told him to wait till I make the larger one. It will be much nicer and clearer. So that's what I'm doing today off an on. I have to stop every half hour and get up and go sit in the living room. I start getting too sore at the computer.
I've still got to finish my slide show from Rich's party. That takes some time to finish also. But I already had a book made for Rich with all the pictures from that day. It's only a soft cover 5x7 but I got a good deal on it.
It's only in the 50's today also and there's a breeze. I haven't seen a fox yet today. No deer either. The woodchuck did come yesterday though. he's getting much fatter now. I'm glad. I was worried about him.
My turtle doesn't seem to be feeling well. She does eat though and eats a lot and poops a lot. But one of her hind legs is not moving and she's real slow. Something happened after she laid all those eggs last week. Either she has more stuck inside or she got nerve damage from laying the eggs. I'm keeping an eye on her more. She can't climb up on her log and she doesn't want to get out like she always did. She was quite active last week before she laid those eggs. Darn it. I feel so bad for her. Her eyes are bright though so far. She seems very touchy. When I change the water I can't pour any over her or wash her shell like I always have. She's jumps like she's sore. So I have to be real gentle with her. She does let me pet her nose and under her chin like I always do. She likes that. There's not any reptile vets in this area. Only one place in Utica. I really can't afford a vet but if I think she can be helped I will get her there somehow. Poor thing.
Well. I have to get going. Have a nice day everyone and a nice weekend.

September 14, 2011-Was A Nice Day
It did get up to 70 today. The air was nice. I didn't go out but when I opened the window to feed the critters it felt so good. I'm sick of the humidity. I love the cooler air and we are going to be getting some these next few days. It might be in the lower 60's tomorrow. I plan on going out.
Talked to Jane today. She never did go to NYC to get that new vehicle. She's still searching. I haven't talked to anyone else in the family. Heard that Alysha was home for a couple days. Bet Steve was happy to see her. It's been a year since her mom died.
Hope my legs feel okay tomorrow so I can do some shopping. At least my foot wasn't hurting today.
I have to make a birthday card for my brother, Jim. He will be 60 on Sunday. Can't believe we all are getting so old. Ha!
That's all I have to say for today. Right now it's time to go to bed. I have skunk smell in my apartment right now. About 20 minutes ago I heard one of the foxes yelping out here under my window. I opened it to see what was wrong and all I saw was a skunk so I guess the skunk must have sprayed the pup. That never happens but the pup probably didn't even know the skunk was there when he came running down through the alley. Poor thing. His eyes will sting for quite some time now. And this smell will be in here all day tomorrow. That's the first time I've smelled a skunk in a long time. Real strong too. Yuck. Bet the woman upstairs is pissed. She hates the smell. It doesn't bother me too much except when it's real strong and close like it is now. Oh well. nothing I can do about it.
Take care everyone.

September 13, 2011-Warm Days Will Be Over
These past two days have been warm. In the low 80's. Today it is more humid and they say rain tonight. So far it's been mostly sunny. Tomorrow the weather takes a drastic turn and it won't even get out of the 60's. Frost predicted for the Adirondacks in the next few days. Going down into the 30's at night. Fall is upon us and before we know it the snow will be flying.
I've stayed inside these past couple days. Doing some photo work. I put together all the pictures taken at Rich and Ann's party and had them printed in book form for them.
Wanda told me that she heard the fox crying last night after midnight like it was in pain. I didn't hear it. I know all my foxes have been disappearing and I don't know why. I only see a couple of the pups now. Last year at this time I had a lot of them around yet. I'm wondering if there are Coyotes up there killing them. I just don't want to even think about it. Makes me sad.
One of the fawns was right outside the windows yesterday and I missed getting a good picture. I moved my curtain and they ran. It was with the smaller Doe. At least they are still around. Not seeing as much of my woodchuck. he was coming every day. I might be missing him though. I'm not always looking out there.
I still haven't talked to anyone in the family so I don't know how anyone else is doing. I'm enjoying my peace and quiet. I like it that way. My legs have been bothering me. Just a few pains now and then elsewhere so I'm doing okay.
The moon was pretty at 4:30 in the morning yesterday. I took a few pictures through the window. Not as good as when I open the window but I didn't want any critters thinking I was going to feed them..Ha!
So that's it for now. My Cockatiel is screaming. I can't stand the noise so I have to go. He's afraid of his own shadow. Now the parakeet is acting just like him and she never was afraid of anything. Me and my birds. Did I tell you that jasper laid ten eggs?? She hasn't laid any more and I'm glad. I worry about her getting egg bound. She isn't wanting to get out of the water like she was either. So I guess it was wanting to lay eggs that made her restless these past few weeks instead of the vibrating noise that is going on constantly here. I'm going to hate it when all my fans are off. it's bad enough that I have to feel it and hear it over everything else right now. It will sound ten times louder when I can't have the air conditioner on to drown some of it out. It still feels like it's coming from inside this building and right under my apartment. I'm stuck with it I guess.
Take care everyone.

September 11, 2011-Time To Remember
Our country sure has changed since ten years ago. I am watching some of the memorials on TV. It's still so sad and I get tears when I watch the children of those who died back then. I sure hope that never happens again. But I am always afraid that there will be some out there who will not get caught before they do something. That's why it's very important for everyone to keep their ears and eyes open. The enemy is within. Not over there in Afghanistan. I sure hope this world will get better for the young children of today. God Bless America.
I went out last night to get groceries. I didn't go the other day because my foot was hurting too much. Not sure why. It took a whole day and night to stop hurting.
I ran into my cousins at Walmart. Angie and Dennis and Christina and Chris. Angie is going camping up north for a few days. Hope she has nice weather.
It was a beautiful day yesterday and today it is so far but not sure how long it will last. There is more rain forecast. Just what we need. The darn ground is so saturated as it is.
I saw this young Blue jay yesterday morning that did not look too well. He sat all puffed up. So I knew he probably wouldn't make it long. And then by the afternoon I saw him lying outside my window dead. Poor thing. This morning his body is completely gone. Feathers and all. The skunks were eating on it. But I have no idea why there isn't even one feather out there. Very odd. But nature takes care of everything.
Not much else going on. Haven't talked to anyone. So you all have a nice day

Thursday, September 8, 2011-Saw The Sun Today!
I was a little afraid to look out my window this morning. Thought the water would still be out there and deeper but it had all seeped into the ground and it only sprinkled a bit in the morning. The sun actually came out in the afternoon. Maybe we will have a few dry days ahead. I sure hope so.
All the schools around here were closed due to flooding though. Lots of streets still flooded. I think that is the first time I've ever heard of the schools closing because of water. That will take away one of their snow days this year. The college was open and my daughter had to go so she had to take the girls to their grandfather's I guess. That is what Salena told me tonight.
I feel bad for the people down in Binghamton, NY. That river hasn't crested yet and when it does it just might be the worst flood they've ever had there in history. Real scary.
I've got some pains in my back today. I wasn't doing anything different. This isn't my usual pain. This is on the left side. I have also been having some pain in my left breast. That breast has been having pain for lots of years though so I don't pay too much attention to it. It's just worse now that I've gotten so big.. Same one they told me in 2004 that I might have cancer in but I refused a biopsy. Sure am not going to have anything checked now. Too late for any of that stuff. I'm sure this cancer will spread everywhere before I'm through. But for now I feel pretty much okay so I am not going to worry about it. I'm not in a lot of pain and that is a good thing.
I might go out tomorrow to Walmart if I feel up to it. To get a few groceries. I'm running low on Olive Oil and I don't have any more candy. Yikes! Ha!
Haven't heard from anyone so nothing to report at this time.
Take care everyone.

Wednesday, September 7, 2011-More Rain
It has been raining steady all day long. We must have gotten about 4 or 5 inches so far. Everything is flooded again in all the counties. It will continue all night and into tomorrow evening. Lots of roads are closed again. All this flooding within a three day period. It seems nothing will ever dry up again. Those poor people in the flood areas. I feel so bad for them.
My apartment is getting worse with the mildew smell. I closed my bedroom door today because I didn't want my bird going in. When I opened it the smell was so overwhelming. I never realize how bad it is till I close the door. And I'm sleeping in that every night. I'm surprised I'm not real sick from it. Maybe I am and just don't know it. I do have trouble breathing at times. I really shouldn't be here in this apartment but I don't want to move.
The maintenance man was here today to put a different heater motor in the ceiling of the bathroom. The other one was starting to make awful noises. So I'm glad that is done. I was talking to him about the conditions outside and why the landlord can't put some gravel or something along the building so the water doesn't keep building up along it. He says every time he mentions it they put him off or change the subject. If I wasn't so tired I'd start a law suit against him but it takes too much time and I don't have the energy any more to fight him.
I guess Vanessa and Sarah had a good time this past weekend down on the shore at their Grandparent's place in VA. My daughter was put up in a motel while the girls took the boys to the beach and kayaking etc. But Ginny would not let all the boys go. One always had to stay behind with her. She said she didn't want to be alone but that isn't really why. That way she always had control if one stayed. But that wasn't fair for the boys.
Sarah has gone back to Nebraska. She will be going to Afghanistan in October. Poor kid. Sure wish she didn't have to go there.
Jeanne's (my sister) cat, Snowball died . He was 12 years old. She buried him over at Jessica's (her daughter) house near the garden.
My sister, Jane, was going to drive down to NY to buy a new vehicle but I'm not sure if she did or not. Haven't heard. Hope she wasn't going in this mess. She'd be running into floods for sure.
Not much else going on. The kids all started school. So now they will be busy with sports all the time. My sister, Pam's little Grandson, Nathan started this year. She had some pics on Facebook. He's so cute. He was all excited to be going to school.
Take care everyone. Hope no one gets flooded out. Stay safe.

Monday, September 5, 2011-Wild Sunday!
We had a wicked thunder and lightening storm here yesterday (Sunday) around 6 pm. The lightening was real close and the rain came down in buckets. Much worse than last weekend during the tropical storm from Hurricane Irene. The electric only went out for a minute though. The wind was terrible for a few minutes. A lot of trees got hit by lightening around here and lots of branches broke off from the wind. Out back of this building there was a huge tree hit by lightening. Across the street a 20 foot section of an old Pine Tree got knocked off by lightening. The lady next door lost a lot of tree branches and an apple tree.
The ditch out front was over flowing. That has never happened before that I know of.
I went out to Walmart and Agway around 8:45 in the morning. Just got inside Walmart and a big downpour came. It sounded real loud on the roof and I was glad I was inside. By the time I left it was just raining lightly and by the time I got back home at 9:50 am it had stopped. The sun even was out for a bit yesterday in the early afternoon. But when it started getting darker and darker later I knew we were in for something. It was like all hell broke loose for a while. This video shows how it looked from my window when it first started and then later all the water out there.
The mildew and mold are growing fast under this building and in the walls. I am almost choking every morning now. It's worse in the living room area because that is where all the water sits and flows under the building.
That girl that got the raw video of the tornado crossing the thruway was lucky that it wasn't coming her way. But Amsterdam, NY got hit by it. Quite a bit of damage down there. The girl that got that video loves storms if she is the same one that is on Youtube. She even has tattoos of tornados on her. So that is quite a coincidence that she should see one. If you search for Mohawk Tornado you will see the video as she was sitting in her car at a rest stop on the Thruway. That was awesome!!
So we all had a pretty wild day around these parts. And it's raining again today and will be for the next few days.

Saturday, September 3, 2011-Very Humid Today
I can't stand this humidity. It was in the low 80's today and tomorrow will be the same. It didn't rain at all today but it looked like it was going to at times. The sun came out later this afternoon. I know people hate to see summer go but I am looking forward to the fall season. I love the cooler weather. Labor day might be a rainy one around here. Too bad for the ones that are camping or having picnics. I'll be camping right here in my apartment as always..Ha!
I didn't do much today. Later in the early evening I did a couple loads of laundry.
That vibration under my floor or in the walls or wherever the damn thing is coming from is bugging me more these past few days because I can hear it louder. I turn my air off now so I hear it more. But it's always vibrating. Sometimes I think it's coming from inside this building. I sure wish I could find the source. I pity the next person that lives in this apartment. They will have to deal with mold and mildew and that noise all the time. It is so weird that when I walk out of my apartment I can't hear it hardly at all but as soon as I come back in it's real bad. When everything is off at night I will sometimes get up and go near the living room and the door to see if I can tell where it's coming from the loudest. It's loudest when i walk near the hallway by my bathroom and in the bedroom. Right now I'm sitting here and can feel the vibration through my feet. As soon as I get into bed I'll feel it through the mattress. And the noise will bug me till I fall to sleep. It still sounds like a steady pump or motor. It used to pulsate but lately it's a steady humming noise.
I even asked Frank Spatto if he knew of anything around the area but he says there isn't. And he says it's not the water tower. All I know it's only been doing this since new people moved into this building after the new year. But why would anyone have a motor running every minute of the day and night. It has to be strong for me to feel it. I sure don't think a motor in a vibrating chair would do it. It's going to drive me even more nuts when it gets cooler and I won't have the fans on to drown out the noise. My air conditioner fan is on right now but I can hear that other noise anyway. Oh well. Doesn't do me any good to complain.
I have to go out in the morning. I'll go around 9 am while it's still a bit cooler. Hope it's not raining.
Take care everyone. I'm going to bed and will turn the radio on and hopefully I will fall to sleep.

September 1, 2011-Gloomy, Damp Day
I got out of the apartment early this morning. had to get more critter food at Agway. The air was nice and fresh and the sun was out. But a couple hours later it turned cloudy and we ended up having rain today. This place never gets a chance to dry out. But I shouldn't complain seeing all the flooding all over the place and the way people have lost everything. I've seen a few videos on Youtube from Prattsville, NY. It's terrible down there. So much devastation. I feel so sorry for all those people.
I felt a little better today. My knee was killing me all day yesterday so I didn't do too much.
I haven't heard anything from Vanessa so I don't know how she's doing with Ginny and the boys. I sent her a note on Facebook but she never writes back. I did get an e-mail from her Grandmother though. Sarah is flying in down there for the weekend and going to take the boys to the beach. I wonder how Ginny will like having to stay behind? Hope she don't fight with the girls over it. She should take the time to just relax while they are all gone. Maybe Fran will let me know how things went after the weekend is over.
I hope you all have a nice Labor Day weekend. Take care everyone.
