It's been raining since the wee hours of the morning. Wind gusts at times also. I've never seen so much water sitting in the little yard outside my living room window. About three inches had fallen by 1 pm. I was almost afraid it would come into my apartment. The water was sitting pretty high up the side of the building for a while. It has subsided now. But the mildew and mold will be a hundred times worse now. I'm surprised I don't have worse lung problems than I already do.
I sure wish there was something I could do about the landlord never finishing that drain job outside since five years ago. That is the reason all the water just sits there. But I've called everyone I could think of a few years back and nothing was done. I gave up.
Everyone is safe down south that I know of also. They were lucky that the hurricane wasn't as bad as first thought. We are getting the rain and wind from that today. By tomorrow everything will be back to normal but there are places that have to worry about flash flooding yet.
I'm tired today and have a slight pain in my right back area. So I'm not doing too much today.
I haven't heard anything from Vanessa so I don't know how she's doing with her mother and the kids.
Heather was activated with her Army unit yesterday because of Irene. They had to be right in her Grandmother and Aunt's area. Near Onanconk, VA. I thought for sure that area would get hit hard. It's on a peninsula between the ocean and Chesapeake Bay. Everyone is okay, thank heavens.
That's all for now. Take care everyone.
