August 30, 2011-Feel Worn Out Lately

I'm feeling tired lately. My left leg and foot bothers me. I've got some strange pains here and there. Had a pain in my liver area in the front early this morning when I was lying in bed. I turned over on my other side and then I didn't feel it any more. But it scared me. I guess eventually it will get me. But I want to hit my 65th birthday first. That's November 1st.
The man who gave me a ride to Utica a couple times when I broke my wrist, died yesterday. He had a pain in his back this past year so went to the doctor and they found a tumor near his spine so gave him radiation and chemo. But he quit it before the treatments were done because he was getting real weak legs. He started feeling a little better and was getting around okay for a couple months. Then he couldn't walk very well and started falling. He went to the hospital a couple weeks ago then they transferred him to the Folts Home this past week. He had a large tumor blocking his esophagus so he couldn't eat. They gave him liquids but he'd cough that up too. This past week he was just lying there. Couldn't walk any more. Couldn't eat anymore and had to wear a diaper. So it's a blessing he went fast. The doctors say he had a very aggressive form of cancer that went all through him. He was on heavy Morphine. His Aunt Wanda is the one that lives upstairs here and the one that watched my birds for me when I was in the hospital for a week. I feel bad for her. She and Floyd were real close. He took her everywhere. Grocery shopping and to get her hair done. I can take her shopping sometimes but I don't go out as often as she used to. I think the couple upstairs has been taking her places sometimes. But for the past couple weeks Floyd's sister and her husband has been down and staying at Floyd's apartment. They were cleaning it out after he went into the hospital because they knew he'd never make it out again. I still can't believe how fast he went. I had just sent him a card too and he never got it. That happened to me before when a lady that lived upstairs was in Folts Home. It was her birthday and I didn't get her card out till the day after. She never got it because she died.
That reminds me that I better get another card out to Jeanette who is living over there at Claxton. That's a part of Folts also but a newer building in the back. It cost a lot to stay there.
I've been so busy with my own family lately that I've neglected to send cards to people on time. I feel bad about that.
I went out tonight to get a few groceries. I was so slow and my leg and foot were hurting so I was glad to get back home. I didn't want to go tomorrow. I feel like a real old lady today. I'm not sleeping enough I guess. I was awake at 5 am this morning and never could get back to sleep. So I guess I better get to bed now. It's past 10:30.
Take care everyone.

August 28, 2011-Rainy Day From Hurricane Irene

It's been raining since the wee hours of the morning. Wind gusts at times also. I've never seen so much water sitting in the little yard outside my living room window. About three inches had fallen by 1 pm. I was almost afraid it would come into my apartment. The water was sitting pretty high up the side of the building for a while. It has subsided now. But the mildew and mold will be a hundred times worse now. I'm surprised I don't have worse lung problems than I already do.
I sure wish there was something I could do about the landlord never finishing that drain job outside since five years ago. That is the reason all the water just sits there. But I've called everyone I could think of a few years back and nothing was done. I gave up.
Everyone is safe down south that I know of also. They were lucky that the hurricane wasn't as bad as first thought. We are getting the rain and wind from that today. By tomorrow everything will be back to normal but there are places that have to worry about flash flooding yet.
I'm tired today and have a slight pain in my right back area. So I'm not doing too much today.
I haven't heard anything from Vanessa so I don't know how she's doing with her mother and the kids.
Heather was activated with her Army unit yesterday because of Irene. They had to be right in her Grandmother and Aunt's area. Near Onanconk, VA. I thought for sure that area would get hit hard. It's on a peninsula between the ocean and Chesapeake Bay. Everyone is okay, thank heavens.
That's all for now. Take care everyone.

August 27, 2011-Everyone Is Watching The Hurricane

My granddaughter, Salena, Debby's granddaughter, Zariah and my youngest granddaughter, Jessi.

Danielle's daughter, Zariah, Crystal's daughter, Kendra, Jessi and Salena, Nina's daughters.

Vanessa decided to stay down there in VA during all this bad weather. I was glad to hear that! It looks like the hurricane won't be quite as bad as predicted at first, thank heavens. But it has yet to hit NYC and that whole area.
Fran and Matt, Vanessa's Grandparents did not leave their area. They went up to their daughter's place which is on the same peninsula. They sort of live out on a bay between the mainland and the ocean. I sure wouldn't have stayed. The hurricane is off to the East a bit but I'm sure they will still get some winds and rain. They said the house they live in has never been flooded since 1952. It will be almost like a tropical storm by the time it hits along the coast of NY I think. It's been downgraded to a one. Just hope everyone will be safe down there.
My niece, Alysha, lives in NH and they will be getting it also. I don't think they have to worry though.
Fran says that the media makes more of it than it really is. maybe so. But it's better to be safe than sorry.
We are expecting rain and wind tomorrow. It will be just another rainy day in central NY.
Danielle finally posted her pics from Rich's party last weekend. I am going to make a slide show and then put them onto DVD's. I'll give them to Debby, her mom, to give to her. I don't think I will ever see Jeanne's pictures or Debby's. They don't upload theirs. Jeanne might have some printed out though. Danielle got some nice pics of the kids near the falls in the water that day. They came out so nice.
That's what I'll be working on this week. The slide show. It will take time.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend. If you live down in the hurricane's path, be safe. Take care everyone.

August 25, 2011-Rainy Day

It was a rainy, humid day. Didn't rain all day. More in the morning. A shower off and on all day though. Some guys were working on the roof though, putting new shingles on one part of the back end.
Last night I turned the heater on in the bathroom for a second and noticed the fan didn't come on. I looked up and could see the elements getting real hot and red so I shut it off real quick. It smelled as if something was burning. I got scared and watched it for a while. It cooled down and was okay. So I put a manintenance slip in the office this morning. Mark came in later in the morning to check it put. Itt seemed to work when he tried it but he took it apart and vacuumed the dust off of it and took all the numbers off the motor so he could get it in case it happens again.. I won't trust it now and will be nervous every time I want heat in the bathroom. The heater is on the ceiling.
I'm still trying to catch up on things. I got rid of one more item today. I advertised my Intelliwriter Typewriter for free on Craigslist. Some guy down the street came and got it. Another guy is coming on Saturday to pick up my old GE Help CB radio. That thing is 35 years old! And still works! I used to take it with me when I traveled years ago and listen to the truckers.
I have another guy coming in a week or two to get that Cobalt Blue Bud Vase that I almost sold for $1. He's paying $20 for it! They sell for $35 on Ebay but I wasn't going to get too greedy. It's better to get rid of it. At least I'm getting more for it now. This guy lives out near Rochester but travels and will be coming through to Cooperstown. His wife collects Fiesta Ware and has been looking for that particular bud vase for a long time.
Another person wanted my Paper Shredder but I haven't heard from her. I'm slowly clearing things out anyway.
With this hurricane coming up the coast this weekend I tiold my Granddaughter she really should not be traveling. She had planned on coming up to NY again with my daughter and the boys. I guess they were going to go visit little Ginny's father in herkimer while Vanessa went to her friend's baby's party in Cold Brook. It sure isn't worth coming if she gets stuck in flooded areas. It sounds like a bad one. vanessa's grandparents are right near the water down there in Exmore, VA. . I talked to her and she said she don't think they will be leaving. Boy! I would be getting away from there and inland. Vanessa don't have to worry too much. She's inland and near DC. But still could get flooded.
The maintenance man was telling me that the woodchuck has dug such a large hole out back that is close to the back door that he might have to trap it and move it to another location. I'd feel sorry for it. They have been around here for a long time. Maybe he could just plug up that entrance. The poor thing would have to start all over again building a winter den and it's getting late in the season for them. There's a young one here also that hasn't gotten fat enough yet. I think it lives in there with it's mom. But I do see the big fat mom coming out of the woods sometimes and she runs down this way. She's probably the one that dug that hole.
So that's all for now.
My sister, Carol, made it home at 2:30 yesterday and went right to work. Then she passed out according to her daughter. I haven't heard from Carol yet but glad she made it home safe.
My brother, Rich, is still recuperating from the weekend. He lost his voice from all the talking. Ha!
Take care everyone and stay safe this weekend if you are in the path of the hurricane.

August 23, 2011-Earthquake!

That earthquake was felt way up here in NY. I didn't feel it but some others did over in Ilion. Jane said her cat was staring at the door and acting weird. Jane thought it was the wind. Vanessa thought at first it was a terrorist attack. She just started her new job with Homeland Security down there in VA. Heather was in classes in DC and said her desk was going up and down.. Pretty scary.
Poor Carol got stuck in Syracuse Air Port for three hours and then did not get a connection so can't get home till tomorrow. Not sure if it's because they had to close the JFK Air Port in NYC and the one in NJ. Maybe that's where she had to make a stop. She didn't say much on Facebook. Just closing down those two airports would make a long delay everywhere else I guess.
I was working on my photos and trying to get all that done. I'm way behind. I felt worse today than yesterday. Guess the busy weekend is still catching up to me.
That's all for now. A damn skunk just sprayed and it's coming in my window. Yuck. I haven't smelled one since last week. My nose got stuffed up all of a sudden and I sneezed. That stuff was potent !! It usually doesn't smell that strong. It must be right under my window but I'm not looking. If I look they will think I'm going to feed them something..Ha! Ha!
I did see my fox pups more today though. That made me happy.

August 23, 2011-Was A Busy Weekend-Now Relaxing

Our Saturday night photo. I and my siblings.

I am with my two daughters and some of my grandchildren in this photo.

Our Sunday photo. One brother wasn't there on Saturday so we had to get another photo. Our baby brother never came at all so he isn't in these.

I'll never catch up on here. Too much to write and I don't feel like it..Ha! Saturday was a long day. My daughter, Ginny, did show up that day. She acted okay and the kids enjoyed themselves near the water and playing with the other kids. I did not leave there till 10:30 PM. Some were staying overnight. They were drinking too much to drive. I thought Vanessa was going to be leaving shortly after me but then I heard the next day that they were there till 2:30 am. And driving back to Pulaski!! They could have slept in their van but Vanessa wanted to get an early start for VA. bet they never left too early Sunday. She had wanted to leave right from there that day but Ginny never got everything packed.
Rich surprised us all by flying home our sister, Carol, from Las Vegas. That was so nice of him and Carol was so happy to see everyone. She hadn't been back since 2005.
On Sunday Rich wanted us all to come back up. Just us siblings. No kids. And Jim and his wife, Patty, would be there also because they weren't there Sat. Had a wedding to go to. Our baby brother, Mike never came either.
Sunday was much cooler and nice. We sat out on the deck. I didn't get up there till 4:30 though. Was not sure if I wanted to go. Then I thought I'd better, just to get another photo. Jane didn't get there till 8:30. She and Savey were golfing all afternoon. He didn't come with her.

Here's a couple pics from the weekend. I just am not in the mood to write everything that happened.
I've been recuperating ever since.

Thursday, August 18, 2011-Update On The Kids

Ginny called me yesterday around 4 pm. From Vanessa's father's house up near Pulaski. They had gotten back around 4 am that morning from VA.
She wanted to come down to visit. It takes two hours to get here from there. By that time it would have been six o'clock. Probably seven by the time they got here because she was doing laundry and it wasn't done yet. I thought that was much too late for me to be having company, especially when I go to bed early and am tired by that time of the night. I told her I didn't think it was a good idea. So I had her put Vanessa on the phone. We decided they would not drive down and instead I'd see them on Saturday at my brother, Rick's party. Vanessa said she was driving to Alexandria Bay this morning and would be camping out overnight there.
I did manage to get a bit more information from Vanessa on what's happening. She plans on buying a home down there in VA and having her mom and the boys live there. She is also already contacted someone about getting birth certificates for the boys. She wants to get them some kind of education. I guess they plan on getting child support from the boy's father and Sarah is going to send Vanessa money each month to help pay bills. So it looks like it will be Vanessa doing most of the work. She says she don't mind at all having them all live with her. God Bless her is all I can say. She's taking on a heavy burden.
Sarah also wants to buy a house when she gets back from Afghanistan.. But she will be living out in Nebraska. She wants to take the boys also and make sure they have an education. Not her mom though. Just the boys. So maybe in the end Vanessa will have her mom and maybe one of the boys with her and Sarah will have the others. They are such good girls. They've had a rough life too and knows how it can be. So I wish them all the luck in the world with all this mess. Eventually it will be straightened out hopefully. It's not a problem taking the boys but I think it might be a problem taking the mother. She can be very hard headed and very tough to live with. She hasn't treated those kids very well in the past. Sarah did not like her at all when she lived out in MN with her for a while. Ginny was very mean to her. I was so glad when Sarah left and went down south to live with her Aunt and Uncle. She's come a long way.
Vanessa just rolls with the flow and she said that she really never minded those couple years living with her mom out there. At that time she was going to a religious school. But I was glad when she got out of there also. She was starting to write like Ginny and talk all that crap like Ginny does about religion. They got it shoved down their throats. So much that some of the kids call themselves atheists..LOL
I'm just hoping all goes well on Saturday and no one gets Ginny mad about what she's doing with her kids. Hope to get through the day without any trouble. I know my sister would love to call the authorities on her but she won't. Right now those kids could be taken away from her fast I think. But as long as Vanessa is working on getting them what they need, then I think it should be left alone.
Well, sometime today I have to do laundry, whether I want to or not.
I went out yesterday morning to get groceries and still forgot a couple items. So now I will have to go back to Walmart sometime before Sat. I plan on leaving here by noon on Sat., to get up to my brothers by one. I'm not sure if Pam is riding up with me or not. Haven't heard from her yet. My brother Jim and his wife will not be there. They have a wedding to go to. Don't know who's. That bummed Rick out. Me too. I wanted to see everyone. I haven't seen Jim since Dec.
I'm doubling up on my Baked Spinach Squares this time. And I've got to bring some stuff for Vanessa if she won't be coming here. Good thing I have my cart to wheel out to the car or I'd never be able to handle bringing stuff. When I get there then someone carries my stuff for me because I have to walk with my crutches. Can't carry a damn thing with crutches.
So that is all for now. Not sure when I'll get back here. Take care everyone.
PS Vanessa has to leave by Sunday morning to get back to VA. She is starting her new job working with Customs and Border Patrol for Homeland Security. Her park job was done when she went to TN. They had spent a week in TN getting all their mother's stuff packed up in a U-Haul. Vanessa said she took her last week of work off with no pay just to do that. Sarah was on leave and Heather wasn't doing anything so they didn't lose anything. It's been very costly for Vanessa. Sarah gave Ginny money before she left and that pretty much went for the U-haul. Heather doesn't have any. That's all I know about that. Ginny and the boys will be living with Vanessa in her one bedroom apartment for now.

Tuesday, August 16, 2011-Vanessa Back To VA

Ginny called me yesterday from her ex husband's house up near Pulaski. That's where they stayed I guess. Vanessa and all of them are heading back down to VA so that her boyfriend can keep a doctor's appointment. Then they are all going to drive back up to NY. Boy! That's a lot of driving! They will probably all stop to visit me on Thursday. By then I can get to the store and get some groceries so I'll have something to feed them all. I'm not used to having so many around but will make the best of it. They can't stay overnight but at least they can visit for a while. We were going to go to the Ilion Marina but I don't know what the weather will be like. So for now I'll just pick up some stuff for here. If we go to the Marina we can eat at the little cafe there. The kids can play on the swings and watch the boats going by too.
On Saturday we will all be at Rick and Ann's for the picnic. I just found out that Jim and Patty won't be there. They already had plans to go to a wedding that day. That's too bad. I thought I'd at least get a good group picture. Oh well. That's the way it goes sometimes. Everyone is busy with their own lives.
I'm just starting to feel better. I've been so tired for the past week and my legs hurt. I think I slept better last night. That always helps.
It was damp this morning but now the sun is out. I sure am glad.
So that's about it for now. Take care everyone.

Sunday, August 14, 2011-The Reunion Went Great!

In back are Elijah and Elishama. On left standing is Othiniel and over on the right is Vanessa. In front are Zephaniah, Little Ginny and Big Ginny.

The rain held off all day and the sun was shining off and on also. I got up there around 2:10 pm. I took an extra Ibuprofen before I left. I was there before Jeanne and Debby. Pam had just gotten there before me. I was so happy to have a nice comfortable chair all day. Karen and Harold had four nice upholstered chairs there for us elderly people..Ha! Nice strong arms to push up with too! My Aunt Sarah was there with quite a few from her family. Her husband, John, passed away last Saturday, the 6th. He'd been in a nursing home and then in the hospital. He had Alshiemers. One uncle is left. That's Uncle Bill and right now he's at the Folt's Home getting rehab. he can't walk very well or hardly at all. He might never come out now but they are hoping he gets stronger and can come home. It will be much easier on the kids if he is in there but not sure if Betty can handle him being gone and now the daughter has gotten a job at the college and won't be there for a few hours a day. Diana has been taking care of them for a few years now and she needed to get out of the house for a while. The older ones on that side of the family are slowly disappearing. But five Aunts are still here. The women are tough. They will always outlast the men.
I got quite a surprise yesterday. My Granddaughter, Vanessa, had asked me for directions to the reunion a few days before but then I never heard back from her. So there she came yesterday with her mom (my daughter) and her four brothers. The three younger boys I have never met. And I haven't seen my daughter since 1997 or around there. I guess Ginny's daughters, Heather, Vanessa and Sarah had driven to TN to see them. They didn't like the living situation so they got a U-Haul and packed up all their stuff and moved them out. Their stuff is in VA right now and that's where Vanessa will be going back to. She lives there. But where Ginny and the three boys will live is still up in the air. This is going to be tough for all of them. There's a lot of things to take care of as far as getting the boys some education. My daughter is so thin and doesn't feel that well. Her back is real bad and her legs bother her all the time. She's the type that will never go to a doctor. She has no insurance and will not have anything to do with any Gov't. hand outs or anything. If you've been following my blog you might remember that these kids were born at home and have no birth certificates. Have never been to a school and have never had any shots. It's going to take a long time to get things straightened out. So now the Gov't will have to be involved whether she likes it or not. I guess it will be all in Heather and Vanessa's hands now. Time will tell. But it was a nice surprise to see them. The boys all had big smiles on their faces. But the youngest one, Othiniel, has a cold and wasn't feeling that well. That makes me nervous. They are around lots of people now. They are not used to that. I sure hope to God that they don't come down with any horrendous viruses because they don't have their shots. I suppose when they do get the shots they will be sick from them. It will be a jolt to their systems after all this time. I'm sure hoping not and hope and pray that they will be okay.
I will be seeing them again this week. They drove up to Vanessa's father's last night I think. He lives near Pulaski. There were seven all together. Vanessa, her boyfriend, Raul, her brother Elijah that is 17 and lives with her dad. Then Ginny and the three boys who have lived in MN all their life before being moved to TN by their father. He's out in MN right now and wasn't going back to TN till Sept. He doesn't know all about this yet. But I have the feeling he will be happy they are gone. He and Ginny never got along.
Then on Saturday my brother is having a picnic at his house. I now have to ask him if it's okay for Ginny to come with all her kids. He wasn't expecting a crowd like that. We'll manage somehow. Ginny wants to see everyone. Most she hasn't seen since she was 16. She is now 45.
When they come back down here to see me this week I think we will all go to the Ilion Marina where the kids can play and have room to run. I can't fit them all in my apartment. maybe just for a short time. It's going to be a day by day thing here this week.
Today I am very sore and tired. I stayed at the reunion till 7 pm. two hours longer than I had planned. My birds were sure mad at me when I came in the door last night. Ricky was afraid I wasn't coming home I think. he flew to my shoulder and wouldn't shut up and then he shit on me..Ha! Ha! Guess he got even with me huh?
So that's it for now. I'm too tired to write any more. I'm leaving a picture of me and the kids and one of the three little ones.

Saturday, August 13, 2011-Miller Reunion

My legs and hips have been hurting more lately but I'm hoping to get to the reunion today. I'm moving slow this morning and it's not going to be easy standing in the kitchen to make the baked spinach squares but it will not be as bad as making spinach balls. They take too long and I just can't do it any more. I guess my baking days are over. I hope I perk up a bit. I went out to Walmart last night because I didn't have enough cheese and when I got back I was in a lot of pain in my hips and legs. I went to bed a little earlier but still didn't get much sleep.
It's overcast today and looks like rain. I hope it holds off till at least 5 o'clock. I'll be home by then. I won't be staying long up there. I want to get there by 1:30 and leave at 4:30. Maybe sooner if I don't feel good.
So I'll be back later with a picture or two maybe. Hope you all have a nice day.
PS: I still have not seen Granny fox or the other two that come at the same time. One pup and the mom were out here this morning though. I'm glad when I see some of them. Oh. Some guys came and took my entertainment center yesterday. Finally! Got that out of here.

Tuesday, August 9, 2011-Went Out This Morning

Haven't done much the past few days. Been so humid here. This morning I got out at 7 am and went to Walmart and Agway. My hips and legs sure were aching though. I couldn't wait to sit. But had to make two trips with the groceries first and then I had to walk down the long hall here to take my garbage to the trash room. Then I had to make breakfast for me and the birds. By the time I actually could sit and relax it was about 10:00. That's too long to be standing on my feet. I had to take some Ibuprofen with breakfast to ease up my back pain. I went to bed with that last night. Too much bending I guess. I'm always picking up something that the birds drop on the floor.
My cousin, Jack, had to fly back to CA today. His mother-in-law has taken a turn for the worse and Jeannie, his wife, had to call in hospice. So I guess I won't be seeing him this year. And my Aunt Sarah's husband died. He's been in the nursing home.
And my friend that lives upstairs, Wanda. Her sister died. I can't go to funeral homes or funerals. I just send cards now.
My brother, Rick, got some good news today though! He got his promotion up at Griffiss with the
EADS (Eastern Air Defense Sector).
He is now now going to be a Master Sergeant. Highest rank he can achieve at EADS probably. He's happy!! And he can retire in five years!
Our immediate family are all getting together on the 20th at his place. I'm looking forward to that. I couldn't go last year because of my rectal tumor. Sure hope it will be a nice, sunny day. Nina and the kids are coming too.
I still haven't gotten rid of my entertainment center. Now I haven't heard anything from that kid from Bridgewater that was going to come and get it. I think he's having a problem finding someone to help him. And a girl from Herkimer was going to come and get the mirror but never showed. But the guy that wanted the Ronald Reagan 24 K Gold Inaugural Medals came today and bought them. He got a good deal on those. So at least I'm getting rid of a few items. I still have more stuff that I have to take pictures of yet then advertise them on Craigslist.
I still have not seen my Granny fox. But I am happy that the pups are still here with their mom. I haven't seen the dad but I'm sure he's out there.
It looked like rain all day and it was quite a bit cooler today, which is fine with me! But it's so damp and my apartment stinks like mildew all the time. Nothing much I can do but keep spraying mold and mildew killer around the floors. I'd like to steam clean my carpets but I am not going to do that till it is very dry or when I have the heat on. Maybe in Sept. or Oct. Otherwise it would just make the mold and mildew worse.
I guess that is all I can think of to say for now. Going back in the living room and watch the news now.
Take care everyone.
PS: The bunny is still alive!

Saturday, August 6, 2011-Rainy Day

It's been a crummy, rainy day but I don't care. I'm inside. Don't like the dampness though. It's harder to breathe and the mold and mildew gets worse.
I've been tired for the past two days. Didn't feel like doing too much. My legs are bothering me a lot. They hurt even when I'm in bed. The right ankle and leg area is still swelling all the time. I try to put that foot up as much as I can but it's hard when I'm up and down too all the time.
Nina finally called me after not hearing from her for almost two months. She's been on crutches for three weeks. She fell on her stairs when she was carrying Jessi to her bedroom at 1:30 in the morning. She sprained her ankle and hurt her Achilles tendon. She has one of those air casts on and is just starting therapy. It will be a few more weeks till she can really walk on it. And she will be starting back to school soon. So I guess it's been tough over there at their house. Good thing the kids are bigger and can do more. Nina says she goes to the grocery store and the kids push the cart while she walks with the crutches. She won't use a riding cart.
The kids still have the chipmunk. But one of their cats went missing and never came back so Nina figures it must have gotten killed. She really shouldn't let her cats out but they always have.
Jessi might have Lyme's Disease. That poor kid seems to get all the bad luck when it comes to being sick. Nina said she won't know for sure till they get the rest of the blood work back but it did show positive. They think she might have Mono also. Can't believe that! She isn't on any medication yet until they know for sure what it is. I thought Mono was catchy but Nina said the Dr. says it's not unless you drink out of the same glass. It's spread through saliva. We used to call it the "Kissing Disease" when I was growing up. Never knew anyone that had it though. Poor Jessi.
Nina won't be at the Miller Reunion Saturday but she said she might come to Rick's picnic on the 20th if everyone is up to it and she can get around better.
I had some people come over today to pick up a couple of nice cobalt blue vases that I had for sale. They were "Indiana Glass". Very pretty. I also have a girl coming sometime to pick up a nice gold framed mirror that I've had for 33 years. And another guy is coming Tuesday to buy my Ronald Reagan 24 K Gold Inaugural Medals. I'm getting rid of a few things slowly anyway.
I still haven't gotten the entertainment center out of here...but a kid will be coming to take it as soon as he gets someone to come with him. It can't be moved by only one person.
Nina thinks I shouldn't be selling everything yet. She says my apartment might look too empty..Ha! Ha! But she will be glad someday when she doesn't have to move all that stuff out herself.
Looks like another rainy day tomorrow and very humid. Yuck. I won't be going out. That's for sure! I don't have to go out again till Tuesday.
I didn't see any foxes today and my Granny still hasn't come around. I can't keep thinking about her though because it bothers me to think that she might be dead. I don't trust some of these neighbors around here. They might poison the foxes because they don't like them. Those kind of foxes are misunderstood. If people see them out during the day they think they have rabies. If only they knew more about them but most people are ignorant about wild life. And those kind of foxes are very meek and shy. Their worst enemies are humans and dogs.
I saw the bunny rabbit outside today so he is still alive and well. He's so cute.
Well. It's time for me to go to bed. Take care everyone.

August 4th Update

My car was done at 3:30 so I called Jeanne and she came over and got me and took me to Ilion. They let me pay the $150 and let me take the car even though Jane couldn't get there till tomorrow to pay the balance. She had clients all day. But they know Jane and Savey because Savey does all their books and taxes. The car feels better so I guess they did something right.. They had to put a tie rod end on the left front wheel and bearings. Then they had to do an Allignment, which was $79!! Got the oil changed and grease job and they put air in my tires. Am glad to have it back and able to drive yet. Wouldn't it be nice if we both lasted another year!! Ha! Ha!
I just talked to Jane. She said that Steve is leaving tomorrow for Ashville. He's riding down with his friends, Dr. Mike and his wife. They own a home there. They don't drink so Steve will be sober for a week anyway I hope.. He drank at the Irish Fest last weekend and had a real bad hangover and had the shakes. He'll be having a heart attack.
Now it's after 7 pm. The birds are all covered for the night and I think I'll go over to Walmart to pick up a few items. Then I won't have to go out for the rest of the weekend.
I still have not seen Granny fox. It's making me sad. I fear that something has happened to her. I hope not. She's my old faithful. I did see the baby woodchuck more today. He ran away once but then came back and didn't run when I talked to him.
That's all for now. Take care everyone.

August 4, 2011-Bad News About My Car

Well. My car won't pass inspection unless I put a new tie rod and wheel bearing on one side. They called me early this morning. He said it would cost $460 total for everything. That includes the inspection and oil change. So now I have to get these other things done also. When they get done with the tie rod end they have to do a wheel allignment also. I didn't know what to do so I called my sister Jane and asked her for help. I've never asked her for anything my whole life. It's hard to ask her. She bitches about money all the time. but I did call and she said she'd pay for it. I'd rather have asked Savey but she won't let me. She thinks that it's her obligation to pay for her family's stuff. Not him. Even though they are married and he has all the money. Trouble with asking Jane is everyone will hear about it and then I'll have to hear how broke she is and it will make me feel guilty. Even though she will take any stray cat and take it to the Vet and get it fixed. She just did that two weeks ago. She spends lots of money for the animals.
I needed $300 because I have the rest. My brother Rick paid for the pipe I needed last month. Now I'll feel obligated to both of them. I've been trying to sell things and have sold a few items. That's how I had the money to get my car registered and was sure I had enough for the inspection and oil change. Never expected it to have any other problems.
I'm not ready to give up my car yet as long as I can still walk. And I sure don't want to be asking the family for rides all the time and I'm sure they aren't looking forward to me asking either.
So I'm not sure when the car will be done. Maybe I'll just wait till tomorrow to pick it up. I think Jeanne has tomorrow off anyway. That way she won't have to leave work today.
So my stress level was up quite a bit first thing this morning. Didn't need that.
I'll be back later and fill you in on anything else. Have a nice day.

Wednesday, August 3, 2011-Took My Car To Garage

Jeanne met me at The Four Season's at 6:15 and gave me a ride back home. It was raining. Sure did get a lot cooler. She will give me a ride tomorrow also when I go to pick up the car. Hope they don't find anything wrong with it. I can't afford any more. It should pass inspection okay. I'm not worried.
Since the second lady had to cancel on the entertainment center I now have a guy who wants to come and get it on Friday. He lives in Bridgewater but has to be in Mohawk for a dental appointment that day. I told him he can not move that thing alone and I won't even let him try. He has to bring someone with him. So he might have to wait. He was one of the guys I turned away at first. He was glad I still had it.
I'm tired today. Not getting enough sleep I guess. So I am not staying on here long to write much. Got to get to bed.
I'll be back tomorrow after I get my car back. Take care everyone.

August 2, 2011-Still Cleaning Out Things

Been going through more stuff for the past couple days. Sold my brand new Oreck cordless iron and my external DVD burner. I knew the girl that bought the iron. She sure can talk. Guess she buys a lot of stuff on Craigslist. She and her husband live in Utica. They were on their way to Fultonville to buy a patio set also.
The kid that bought the DVD burner came down from between Utica and Rome. He had one just like it but burned it up making too many DVD's. Mine was just like new so he was real happy to have it. When he got home he hooked it right up and burned a couple DVD's. He wrote me an e-mail.. I told him when I empty one of my external hard drives I'll send him an e-mail; because he said he'd like to buy that also. I have three and I'm trying to compact all the stuff onto two. The Maxtor is nice but it's heavy. Works great though. But I have 100 Gigs to move onto my other one. That will take some time. And I want to go through everything and maybe delete some of the stuff that I don't need any more. I have too many duplicates on my hard drives. None of my family is into computers that much so they won't want that stuff.
Found a few old coins today when I was going through stuff. Forgot I had them. Silver is up now also so I can get about $70 just for a few silver dimes and a few quarters and two half dollars. I sold a lot of coins years ago when it wasn't worth that much. Sure wish I had all those now. I had a whole roll of brand new silver dollars back then. Sold them for $90. Today they would be worth
$290 at least. I have to find out where to take them though. Up in Utica probably.
I'm worried about my Granny fox. It's been two days now and I haven't seen her at all. She always came every single morning and afternoon. Today seemed quiet though for animals. Not sure why. Didn't even see the woodchucks today and they always come. Something is going on outside that I can't see. But I am worried about Granny the most. She's getting old and she's so pretty and friendly and quiet. Hope she hasn't gotten caught in a trap somewhere.
I am dropping my car off tomorrow night in Ilion so they can inspect it and change the oil on Thursday. I have to call one of my sisters so they can meet me there tomorrow evening and bring me home. Then I will need a ride on Thursday to get it. Hope Jane doesn't have clients late on Thursday so she can get me there before they close. I'm dropping it off tomorrow night so I won't have to drive it during the day with with an expired sticker. They have a drop box for the keys.
My left knee is hurting real bad again. Guess I've been on my feet too much this week. The left foot hurts and that causes the knee to hurt. have had a wicked back ache from standing too much. I try to sit for a while but then I'm right back up doing more things.. I never can stand to sit for long.
So now I must get up and look out the window. It's just about dark. Got one tiny black skunk out there. Nothing else around yet.
Take care everyone.
