Last Day Of May-2011-Boy Was It Hot!

It got to just about 90 degrees here today. I hated opening the windows to feed the critters. And I couldn't believe on this hot day that the guys were replacing windows on this building. Right above me too. Their scaffolding is still outside my window because they have to finish in the morning I guess. They were out there at 9 am. I closed my drapes till they were gone at 2:30. My birds were freaking out. Even after they were gone the scaffolding still scared them. Guess I'll be going through that tomorrow also till they take it down.
I stayed inside all day and watched the Casey Anthony trial on TV. Can't believe that girl. This trial will last a couple months they say. I've never watched a trial before except for bits of the OJ trial. Very interesting.
I was awake at 4:30 this morning because jasper wanted to get out of the water so bad. She was making all kinds of noise. I didn't want to get up but I did at 5:00 and never went back to bed. But I had to change my flange on my belly anyway and I cut my hair and by the time I took my shower and got dressed it was 6:30. All that stuff tires me out now. Even cutting my hair isn't as easy as it used to be because it's hard lifting my right arm up. Then my legs get so tired from standing so long.
Jasper still won't eat a thing. She's getting lighter and lighter. She's wasting away right before my eyes. I even tried to feed her some worms and she wouldn't touch them. That noise and vibration is still going every day and night, although I don't hear it as much with the air on. I let her out this evening because she was climbing the walls of the tub. Then she was walking all over the place till she finally settled down somewhere. I suppose I'll get woke up early again if she starts walking around.
They are having a little get together at coffee hour tomorrow morning for a lady that is moving over to Claxton Manor in Herkimer. Little Jeanette is 93 years old and can't be on her own any more. I really like her. I always make DVD's of my critters for her to watch. She will still be able to because she can have her own TV and some furniture there.
So I guess I better get to bed. I'm surprised I'm still awake. I tried to take a nap in the chair today but I never can. Never was a nap person.
I have to go out tomorrow. Hope my car won't make too much noise. I have to get it fixed one of these days when I get the funds from a family member. I haven't asked yet. It's not going to be as hot anyway.

Remembering all the fallen soldiers who died to keep us free.

I'm glad this day turned out so well for those who have picnics and want to be outside. After all the rain it's so nice to see the sun. It is a bit warm though but I'm inside where it's comfortable and that's where I'm staying. I'm just being lazy today Watching some TV and the critters outside.
I'm worrying about my car. The pipe underneath has come off or has a hole in it. It's making quite a bit of noise now. Trying to figure out how the heck I'm going to get it fixed with no money. I am going to try and find someone that fixes cars on the side. maybe it just needs a clamp or a piece put on instead of buying a whole pipe. That car only has one long section so I'd have to buy that and they are very expensive. The muffler shops will rip me off as usual. I'll worry about that on Wednesday when I have to go out. It's always something. But I'd hate to lose my car. I can still get around so I want to drive as long as I can.
Tomorrow is going to be near 90 they say. Yuck! I can't stand the heat. Just hope my air conditioner keeps working all summer. I'd die without one now.

May 28, 2011-Rain, Rain, Rain

We had a terrific thunderstorm last night! That lightening was real close. I had to open my shade so I could watch it better..I love storms as long as they aren't destructive. But I'm sure there was destruction somewhere after all that. I thought a tree out back got hit but I can't see anything out of place out there this morning. It sure did rain hard also. Everything is so wet. It won't be a good weekend for all those campers. It's going to be rainy at tomes today with more storms. They are scattered so we never know where they will hit. The worst part is it's going to get up in the 80's and near 90 and be humid. I'm glad I don't have to be outside.
I did go over to Walmart after 7 pm last night to pick up a few things. It wasn't raining when I went in but as I was in the check out line I heard the hard rain on the roof. It stopped before I went out the door. It was like a quick downpour. When I got home it was all dry here so I guess it didn't rain this side of the bridge at that time.
My thumb on my left hand, close to the wrist area, is hurting more than usual this morning. Makes it hard to get up. I have a back ache also. I'll take some Ibuprofen later. My thumb has been bothering me for months. Feels like the joint is out of whack sometimes.. Guess every time I go shopping it hurts more. Either from pushing the grocery cart or lifting bags. Probably both.
I've been up since 6 am. All those Starlings were making a racket outside. The babies are with the parents now and they make so much noise. It will be that way for over a month or more.
The fox parents were out there early also. Glad to see the storm didn't bother them. I always wonder if the little critters get killed by lightening. I'm sure some do.

May 26, 2011-Hot And Humid

Yesterday I decided I'd better get out my air conditioner because the weather reports were calling for 80 degree days with high humidity. I was a bit tired after hauling it out of the closet. It's a portable so not too bad. had to connect the hoses and get the window part in. Then I remembered I didn't have any filter foam to put around it to keep the bugs out. I took the filter out of my air purifier because I won't have it on if the air is on. Washed that and then cut it up to fit in the spaces around the areas that I could see through. next time I go to Walmart I'll buy more to do it right.
Sure am glad it's on right now because it's real hot and humid outside. Glad I don't have to go out. I never could stand the heat.
I asked Nina if she could go to Agway for me so she did last night and she and the two girls came over. They stayed for a couple hours. It was nice to see the kids again.
Nina is all done teaching at the college. She's looking for a temporary job right now. This fall she will also teach a class at Griffiss one night a week.
Yesterday I watched a fox catch a squirrel and later in the day the weasel got a chipmunk. I didn't really care about the squirrel since I have so many around and the babies are on their own now. But I do feel bad about the chipmunk. That weasel will be wiping them all out this year.
I'm not feeling too bad these days. Did have a slight back ache last night and still do today from moving the air conditioner and a piece of furniture.
Now I'm going back to watch the trial on TV of Casey Anthony.

I am so sick of that motor noise, although it has toned down at night now. But in the mornings it vibrates right through my body. Jasper still isn't sleeping well or eating at all. Yesterday afternoon I don't know how she got up there but she was on top of a cassette case next to my dresser. I had things folded on there and my package of mattress pads. She had them all over and was lying on top of them. Turtles are amazing. They can get into places that you would never think they could. I then was afraid she'd fall off so I put a pillow on the floor beneath her. They climb but will fall off high places. Then she got down eventually and slept under my bed all night till 5:30 this morning. Thank heavens for that. At least I got some sleep. Was up a couple times during the night though to go to the bathroom.
It's humid. I can't stand it. Looks like it might rain but I think maybe the sun might come out eventually. Scattered thunderstorms is what the radio said. So we could have a nice day with a little rain now and then.
I have to go to Walmart today. Not sure when though. I have to be in the mood. And feel good enough to go. Right now my back is hurting a bit. I have been taking Ibuprofen every day for that. It helps a lot. I took two yesterday.
It's our maintenance guy's birthday today so I better get a card made for him.

Sunday-May 22, 2011-Finally Got Some Sleep!

I cannot believe that noise wasn't going very loud all night and I got some sleep for a change. Maybe someone has gotten the word around the town. I sure hope so. It started at 5:30 this morning, just like yesterday morning and it's running right now but not real loud. But it is daytime and I have the TV on. My turtle wanted to get out of the water at 5:30 also. She's back to wandering around the house. But at least she did stay in the tub all night this time. She still will not eat a thing though. She will starve to death soon if that keeps on. I'd hate to give her to Jen and then have her die. Jen would feel so bad. But it's worth a try. Jasper might start eating again.
I still think that noise is an underground pump. If it's not a sump pump, which it sounds too loud to be, then it's the pump that the village pumps water for that water tower on the hill behind me. They say they pump water into it every night. Maybe because all those trees were cut down back there it's causing the noise to travel more underground. I feel sorry for the next person that moves into this apartment. They will have to deal with that noise now on top of all the mold in the walls. Not to mention the squirrels jumping on their windows..ha! Ha! I won't have to worry about it when I'm dead and gone. That's one way of getting even with the landlord!! Never finishing that drain culvert outside my bedroom so the water would go in that drain and not under the building like it does. He got the money to do the job and only did half of it and probably pocketed the rest. Government money is wasted a lot like that.
Anyway. It is cloudy this morning and it looks like more rain but hopefully the sun will come out again. Yesterday was nice in the afternoon.
My feet are vibrating as I sit here when that pump runs. So weird.

I slept a little better last night. That noise wasn't quite as loud so that sure helped. I put Jasper in the water last night and at 5:30 this morning she was making a racket so I had to get up and let her out. So I've been up since then. I wish I could have stayed in bed till at least 7:30 this morning. Then that noise got louder it seemed from 5:30 till just a minute ago (8 am). I tried to sit at this computer but Jasper was trying to get into any small corner she could and was going back and forth along the electric heater in here and making o much noise. I just put her back in the water. I just can't seem to get any peaceful times. With the birds screeching all day and jasper so restless. At least yesterday afternoon was a bit peaceful when that noise went off. I hope it goes off totally again today. I can still hear it slightly right now though.
It's another gloomy, wet morning. Hopefully the sun will come out later. The oldest female fox was just down. I was talking to her right under my bedroom window. She's so pretty. The foxes make things a bit better and peaceful for me for a time anyway. Then it's back to the squirrels all over the place and jumping up on my window. I need a tranquilizer I think..Ha!

Friday, May 20, 2011-Peace And Quiet All Day!

After a horrible night with that motor, pulsating noise all night I finally got some peace during the day. At around 8:00 am the noise went to a low sound and then around 11:00 am it seemed to go off. What a relief! The sun came out this afternoon and it was a nice evening. I went over to Walmart at 7 pm. Wanted to make sure I had enough candy for the weekend and had to pick up a few groceries also.
Saw the foxes a lot today. No babies yet though. I figure in another week or two I will be seeing them.
I was hoping that motor would stay off tonight but it came on at 8:45 tonight and now it's going full blast. I'm not sure how Jasper will handle it. I did put her in the water for the night. Last night she wanted out and she would not find a spot to sleep. She was walking all over the apartment. When she went into a closet and seemed to be staying there I shut the door. I didn't want her crashing into things all night or bothering the birds. But at 5:30 this morning she was scratching at the door to get out. I've been awake since then. But right now I'm heading into bed. I should have gone to bed much earlier. I was so tired all day. Hope tomorrow is better and it will be another quiet day for us.

May 18, 2011-Another Rainy Day-Irritated By That Noise

I was hoping that noise would not come on last night but it did by 9 pm. It came on louder about the same time tonight also. Jasper is in the water tonight. Not sure how long she will stay there if this noise starts to bother her. It was on right through the night till about 9 this morning then it quieted down. I wasn't in a very good mood today either. I think it's starting to really get to me.
This gloomy weather is still with us too. It's raining out there right now and tomorrow it will be another rainy day.
I went out just to go to Agway to get my critter food then came right back home. I didn't do too much today. Just vacuumed and ironed a few tops. Then my back started hurting so I had to sit down.
My flanges are lasting 6 to 7 days now! I sometimes forget I even have it on now. When my belly was irritated all the time I always felt the stinging. Now I don't. I change the bag twice a day though. My legs and foot bother me the most these days and my back. Now that I gained all this weight I guess I should go on a diet..LOL
Today was my oldest daughter's 46th birthday. Time sure does fly by.

Tuesday, May 17, 2011-Same Old Thing-Rain

Another gloomy, wet day here. And I wasn't in a very good mood either. Seems everything was driving me crazy. My birds, especially Ricky. He was screeching all day long. That humming sound was real loud last night and I didn't sleep very well. But it is a miracle so far today, as of right now anyway (8 PM) that the noise has stopped. It always starts up at night louder it seems. I'm hoping it won't bother me again tonight. It has been running 24 hours a day though and just is quieter during the day. It's like they turn it up a notch at night.
Jasper is still under my night stand in the bedroom and hasn't come out all day. I did check on her to make sure she was still alive. She is. She had her head lying on one of my other pair of slippers. I think she's getting weaker and weaker. She was walking around some yesterday but slower than usual. And it seems one of her legs gets weak and she tips to one side now and then when she's walking.
I didn't feel too bad as far as my back and legs. I washed my windows. Only because the squirrels made a muddy mess of them.
Saw one deer last night. It was almost dark but did get one good picture of it. Got some video also which is on Youtube. The deer wanted to come over to get some nuts I think but the fox was out there also so it didn't. Don't know where it's sibling was. They were together the night before.
One of the women who live upstairs had gone to the hospital a couple times and now she is not coming back. She's almost 93 years old and was always very independent. She always took the bus to get her groceries etc. So now she is at the St. Lukes Home in Utica. Not sure she is going to stay there though. They might put her ina different nursing home. So now another apartment will be empty for a while. There are so many new people here. It just doesn't seem like the old place any more. And more and more smokers seem to be moving in. Yuck! I sure hate when they stand outside by the front entrance and we have to walk through that stinky stuff. I have yet to complain to the landlord but I plan to. I just don't think it's right. And I feel sorry for the lady upstairs. The smoke goes right into her window. I'm kind of glad I won't be around much longer. I don't like this place really. If it wasn't for the critters I would have moved long ago.
Guess I'll go watch TV for an hour then go to bed and try to get some sleep.

Sunday- May 15, 2011-Rainy Day

I didn't do much at all today. It was rainy and gloomy. Just watched the outdoor critters. The foxes were out there early this morning again.
This evening around 8 PM I saw two young deer over by the woods. It was hard to get pictures though because of the gloomy darkness but I got some blurry ones and a little video. They were right there with the foxes. The darn skunks came also and they were right there taking the foxes food.
I also heard the fox pups back in the woods. So cute. Hope they come out soon.
Nothing else to talk about. Very quiet today I didn't talk to a soul!
I am taking one Ibuprofen a day now to ease my leg and back pains. It helps a lot.

May 14, 2011-Rainy Day-Jeanne Stopped By

It was a gloomy day. Rained on and off but not hard. A few sprinkles. Jeanne stopped over this afternoon for a while. She got to see a couple of the foxes. It was a busy day for the foxes. The daddy fox that always comes was out there sitting like a dog and waiting for me when I opened the shade this morning. I was surprised to see him that early. Then his mate came an hour later. That tells me that the pups are keeping them real busy now and soon they will be bringing them out of the woods. Then later this afternoon I saw a different pair of foxes. They are the ones that had babies last year also. I was happy to see them. So they will be bringing their pups out too. That pair was out by the edge of the trees a lot last year, watching their pups. The male in this pair never comes too close but I did get some pictures of him. I'm getting excited to see all the babies. I think they might be out before the first week of June this year by the way the parents are acting now.
I went over to Walmart around 6 pm tonight to get a few things. My back was feeling pretty good today but my damn foot was bothering me. Always something bothering me so that I can't be comfortable when walking around the store. What a bunch of weird people in the store tonight. And they never have too many isles open so I had to wait in line for a while. But I was home by 7.
My turtle is sleeping under my bedside table tonight. The poor thing wouldn't stay in the water for even an hour this morning and she was trying to crawl out so I lifted her out and she wandered around the house a lot. She went under the recliner a few times but didn't stay under there. She kept coming over to me and resting her head on my foot. She's got such a pretty face.
I better not turn the radio on tonight because she's right under it and I don't want her to wake up and wander around in the middle of the night.
I'm heading to bed now. Can't think of anything else to say. Take care everyone.

Friday, May 13, 2011-Rainy Morning-Sunny Later

Friday, the 13th! But I am not superstitious so it doesn't bother me. Just another day. It was raining when I woke up this morning and it continued to sprinkle till around noon. Then it was cloudy till around five. The sun came out and the skies turned blue and it got a bit warmer. (65)
The guys moved their heavy equipment in from the bottom of Putts Hill. I can see them through the woods clearing the land to build a house back there. Guess it's going to be a noisy few months till that is done. The foxes didn't come out till those guys were gone. It was after 7:30. Three of the adult foxes were out there at the dame time tonight. The one female came out at noon today. That's real early. It's getting closer to the time the pups will be coming. The parents are out a lot during the day at that time. A couple more weeks. Hope those men don't change all that this year. But it might. They might be afraid to bring the pups this close and I wouldn't blame them.
I've got more pain or aching underneath my right rib cage now. guess my liver is starting to get worse. it was there all day today. I finally took one Ibuprofen for the first time since last year. It helps the bone pain a bit. But I only took one 200 mg for the day.
Talked to Jane today. Haven't talked to her in a long time because they were down in Myrtle Beach for almost three weeks. My brother, Jim, still has a few more things to finish in the kitchen and then it will be all done. She just had her marble counters put in this week. Green marble. She said it looks great. Jim put in new cupboards for them. And cut a hole between the kitchen and living room. I'll have to ride up to see it some time.
I went outside with my walker this evening. Walked around the front of the building just enough to see up the side of the building in my area. Things look quite different from that angle..Ha! Took a few pictures. Then I came back inside. I haven't been outside with my Scooter yet. I can't drive it on grass though. It's not built to go over bumpy surfaces.
Not much else going on. My poor turtle still won't stay in her water or eat anything. She hasn't eaten in almost three months and I'm afraid she's going to die. That noise and vibration is still going on and that is why she won't stay in the water. She will go in for a couple hours during the day but then she wants out. Not sure where she is tonight. I think under the living room chair. I feel so bad for her. I haven't heard anything from Jen, the girl that was going to take the turtle. That would be the best thing. get her away from that noise. Then maybe she'd eat food again.
More rain all weekend so I won't be going out.

May 12, 2011-Another Sunny Day

The weather has been so nice. It was beautiful yesterday and again today so far. But I guess it all has to come to and end. The darn rain will be moving in by Friday night or Saturday.
I went out last evening, hoping to get some sunset pictures from Putts hill but I went to Walmart first and by the time I came back out the sun had already set. But there were clouds in the sky and it looked so neat that I took pictures from Walmart parking lot and then from the top of Putts Hill. It was weird seeing those clouds because we had clear blue skies all day.
I'm still dealing with my bones hurting. I almost didn't go out last night when I got a bad pain in my hip. I walked it off as much as I could and it was okay in the store. But it sure is hard getting up out of my car. Sure wish my car seat was higher but I already have it lifted with cushions. I always wanted a small truck but never got one all my life. I was lucky to have what I did get. And now it's too late to worry about that stuff. If I continue to get bad I will have to give up my car anyway.
I'm not doing anything today. Just some vacuuming and then relax as much as I can. Of course I can never relax. I'm up and down a hundred times a day. Ha! Ha!

May 10, 2011-Another Beautiful Day Here!

Going up to 70 today. Perfect weather! I did go out yesterday to Agway and Walmart. I was a little slow moving because my bones were hurting but I managed. When I left I took a ride up over Putts Hill. I like coming home that way so I can see some country. I saw two quarter horses and two cows. Took some pictures. I was hoping to see all those Turkey Vultures that have been flying around but it seems whenever I go up that way I don't see anything. Everything is looking so green and pretty now.
I haven't seen that little weasel again but I did see a pretty Sparrow Hawk and got some nice pictures. He almost got a bird outside my living room window. He missed and I was happy.
Saw the foxes also. I figure maybe three more weeks and the baby foxes will be coming out of the woods with their parents, to romp and play and learn. I feel blessed that I get to see these little babies and all the critters around here. It's been fun watching them all these past 14 years. This might be my last Spring to see them. So of course I will be taking loads of pictures like always.

May 9, 2011-Nice Days Ahead!

It's going to be warmer and sunny for the next few days! Hope I can get out today to get some groceries. My back has been bothering me every day. last night I had a wicked pain in my right hip. I couldn't walk on it at all. The pain was sharp. maybe I have bone spurs or something. It went away after a while. I think I bent over the wrong way and knocked something out of whack. This morning it is hurting in the bottom middle of my back. I think I will start taking aspirin or Ibuprofen again. Ibuprofen is the only thing that works for me but I haven't taken anything since before my surgery. But now and then I might have to. Can't take this pain. I'm just afraid of it making my liver worse but just a couple shouldn't hurt as long as I'm taking them with enough food.
That noise is still humming away every day but it doesn't seem quite as loud. last night it was loud from 6:30 till 11:00. But I fell to sleep. I can hear it this morning. I'm still debating whether to call the village. I hate to have them come over and then find out it is someone in the building causing it. I would still like the maintenance man to go check a few apartments but they don't seem to want to. On Saturday it actually didn't make any noise for a few hours and I was so happy to finally have some peace and quiet. It always seems to start up louder at 6:15 to 6:30 every night and then stay on all night. Weird.
My daughter didn't call on Mother's day at all. I thought she would be coming over with the kids but she didn't. All she did was tell me Happy Mother's Day on Facebook. Nice huh?
She told me she was having a guy move in with her. That's where her mind is all the time these days I guess. Can't believe she's doing that after all the problems she's had with men. And she said she'd never do that again. At least find a guy that makes as much money as she does but I guess this one doesn't. The only thing she did say is that he is very nice and makes her laugh and likes kids but doesn't have any of his own, although he's a married man. Not divorced yet. BIG MISTAKE!!! But it's her life. Time will tell. Not sure when I will ever meet him. Maybe never.
Anyway. It's sunny and a beautiful day and I'm going to try and get out there and enjoy some sun!!

May 6, 2011-Irritated By Noise But Feeling Better

I went out last night to Walmart and on the way back I drove up Putts Hill and listened but heard nothing. Then I drove around and stopped a few places but heard nothing. So I'm still perplexed on what this damn noise is. The guy upstairs walked around the building but could hear nothing. Today at 1 pm it got quiet so I thought it went off but I could slightly hear it but at least it wasn't bothering me. Then it got louder at 3:15 pm and at 6:15 it's real bad again. I can't figure it out. I asked another neighbor down the hallway if he had any vibrating chairs or a bed maybe that had a motor but he doesn't. I walked the halls at 9 pm last night to see if I could hear it louder anywhere. I could hear it but not as loud as when I come inside my apartment. And the worse is in the bedroom. I didn't sleep hardly at all last night and was awake at 5:30 this morning. Jasper is sleeping under the living room chair. I had put her in the tub for a while during the day but then she wanted out real bad when the vibration gets worse. This is making me so irritated that I almost want to cry now. I am snapping at my birds all the time. I sure don't want to move at this stage of my life because of some noise.
On Monday I am going to call the village garage and ask them if they have a noise detector. maybe then I will find out what area it is coming from. If I could only shut all the power off to this building to see if it stopped. Then I'd know if it was coming from inside or out.
Anyway. It was a beautiful day. I've been watching the squirrels and critters. I haven't seen my family of squirrels since the mom moved them back further again. But I do see the mom. The babies will be over here one of these days.
Oh! I spotted a Weasel again in the rock wall. haven't seen any since that one last year. So now I suppose all the chipmunks will start disappearing. I am already missing one. The one with the crippled leg. He might have been the one that the Weasel dragged by the back leg last year but he got away. I guess now I know why I haven't seen him in a few days if that weasel is around. Weasels are cute but very vicious little animals. They will kill the baby squirrels too.
Not much else going on. My back has been feeling better and my leg and knee is a bit better also. I'm glad of that anyway.

Wednesday, May 4, 2011-Village Guys Stopped Today

Two guys from the Electric Department stopped by today to ask me about the noise I'm hearing. One guy couldn't hear a thing but thank God the other one did. The first thing he thought it was was the water pump to the hot water here. When I told him there was no pump and we all have out own tanks and that it wasn't that, he listened more. I told him I thought it might be someone close by with a water pump to pump water out of a cellar. He said it does sound like one and thinks it might be coming from next door in the old Plano house where Bernie Sommers lives. They said they'd ask Bernie when they saw him. But if it is a sump pump then there's nothing I can do about that and me and my turtle will be driven crazy till we die. Ha! I feel so bad for my turtle. That humming noise is really bothering her.
Today I watched the mother squirrel with her babies climbing down out of the nest. She took them all over the tree and then late this afternoon she was trying to get them to follow her over a branch to another tree. One managed to do it but the other two couldn't. She got over to them and had them follow her down to the ground and they disappeared beyond my sight. Heading for another tree. now it seems that she's keeping them in one of her other nests again. Because they did not come back to their tree. man, she sure moves a lot..Ha! Ha! But it was so cute to watch them today.
It's been another rainy day and only in the 40's. Don't look much better for another couple days.
I felt pretty good today mostly. I changed my flange on my belly this morning. I went six days!! Awesome!
My sister, Carol, who lives out in Las Vegas, had a mini stroke, she thinks, and was in the emergency room and will be getting more tests. They did an MRI on her head and found a mass. She also has high cholesterol and asked me if anyone in the family has had strokes. Yes! I told her I have always been worried about that. Poor Carol does not have any insurance though. She will never be able to pay for that stuff. She's better off being poor for cripes sake. Guess she don't have any insurance on her job. But she hasn't been there that long yet. So I sure hope she will be okay.

Tuesday, May 3, 2011-That Humming Noise

I asked Emma, next door, about that noise. It isn't anything in her apartment. I have decided it has got to be something to do with the village or somewhere near this building. Because now I don't think it's coming from inside. I listened better outside my window today and I can hear that noise faintly. It's just odd that I hear it more inside. It might be because of the vibrations. So I called the village and asked them. The lady I talked to said she'd inform the electric dept. I'd think it would be more the street dept. but I'll have to wait and see if I hear from anyone. She said it wouldn't be coming from up on Putts Hill at their water tower. This damn thing sure is a mystery and sooner or later I will get it solved. But in the meantime it sure is bugging the hell out of me. And my turtle. She is so restless. She wouldn't stay in the water last night either. She hasn't eaten anything in a month now. Pretty soon she will probably die.
I'm wondering if anyone else around this neighborhood hears it. The girl in the office couldn't hear it when I brought her in my apartment today. But Wanda did call me this afternoon and said she thinks she is hearing it now, although she couldn't hear it when she was in my apartment. She said to her it sounded like a big truck trying to get up the hill. So I am sure glad someone else can hear it. I was afraid they'd all begin to think I was nuts.
It's a dreary, damp day today. Just sprinkled a bit so far but the heavy rain is coming tonight.
Oh!! The baby squirrels are in that nest again and today they were playing up and down the tree!!! it was so cute watching them. They are bigger than I thought they were. Can't believe that mother carried them all back up that tree. They sure must have been heavy. But it is nice to be able to see them closer again. Soon they will all be running over here with the mom. She won't let them go too far yet. They were out at 8:30 to 9:00 am and then she made them get back in the nest. The mother came out at 2 pm for a minute but when the babies tried to come out she made them go back in. Then she went back and I haven't seen them again. If it rains they will stay inside. Otherwise they will be out again in the evening for a little while I think.
The older female fox comes down every day around 3:30. Saw the other pair just before dark last night. So they are all okay so far.

Monday, May 2, 2011-Felt Better

My back felt much better today. My hands hurt though. So weird that my bones are hurting in all different places now. But at least I can still get out of bed each morning.
My sister, Jeanne, stopped over yesterday. We had a nice visit. She said she had to take detours to get to work last week during all that flooding. She has to drive up to Barneveld a few days a week. And her daughter, Jessica, had to take a different road to get to work also. She is a teacher at the West Canada Valley School. The Middleville bridge was closed also for a couple days. Thank heavens things are getting back to normal. Just hope the rain we get tomorrow doesn't hurt that progress.
I went over to Walmart tonight at 7 pm tonight. Ran into my sister, Debby. She's working 12 hour shifts lately at the Remington Arms. She hates it but it's a job.
My brother, Rich, is through with college and has earned his Bachelor's degree!! I am so proud of him. I think he's going to have a party at his place soon. I can't wait to go. I couldn't make it last year when he had a picnic. It's beautiful there. Back in the woods and near a waterfalls.
My brother, Steve, is back to drinking too much again. Both he and my nephew got drunk last weekend and fell off their bikes. Steve can't drive so he always rides a bike. Guess my nephew must have brought his bike with him when he spent the night at Steve's. Steve is going to kill himself the way he's going. He never learns. Every time he gets back to drinking he gets in trouble. Nothing anyone can do about it. He's 60 years old for cripes sake.
I've been telling you about my mother squirrel and how she's moved her babies into that third nest somewhere out of my sight. Well today I spotted her up at the original first nest and she was busy getting branches and repairing it. So I'm not sure if she has moved the babies again or not. I will be watching her tomorrow.
Did I mention that some guys were cutting down trees in the back woods on Saturday? That really made me mad. Three trees fell. I'm sure there were some little critters that got killed. The squirrels were crying and the birds were having a fit that day. The birds are laying their eggs now.
I saw a picture on Facebook today that looked familiar of woods. It was from Greg Overracker that lives over on Henry, the street behind us. He was complaining about the trees being cut also. He says it's Bruce Ward and his cronies. So someone must be going to build a home there. At least now I can find out more if this Greg keeps an eye on it. He's not happy at all about it.
It wasn't a bad day anyway. Was cloudy all day and we had a few sprinkles. In fact it just started to sprinkle when I went to the store. It's going to rain harder all day tomorrow. Only in the 40's and 50's so hopefully it won't be too humid this time.
That's all for now. Got to get to bed. My turtle is in my bedroom tonight. He won't stay in the tub because of all that noise coming from the next apartment. It's driving me and him crazy. The vibration is terrible. I told the girl in the office but she won't do anything. She said she was going to ask that lady's nurse if there is a vibrating chair in there. I told her it might just need to be moved a bit or have a rubber mat put under it. Sure hope someone gets that solved or I might have to move.
