Aunt Betty Paslak died on May 16th. No calling hours but the kids had a celebration of Betty's life at the Polish Club on Tuesday, May 21st. Only Jim and Jane went from my family. Jim's wife didn't go because she was getting prepared to bury her mom, and her family was all flying in.
Diana asked me to make a slide show for that day. It was short notice and I worked on it for three days. It was very stressful. I had almost 400 pictures. Then I had them all in one of my slide show programs and when I went to save it, it was blank. I could have cried. I had to start all over again. Not to mention my bird screeching all those days and the cigarette smoke killing me from other people in this building. Was a very bad few days for me. I even refused company. I was too miserable. But in the end I got it done. In fact I had just finished it that morning. Diana picked them up on her way to the club that day. I gave her two copies. One for her and one for Donna. I will make two more later. The boys won't be back home till next year, when they bury their mom. They had just been home when she was in the hospital. Or when she was at home. She died at home. Hospice was there every day. I still don't know what she died from or what was wrong with her, except for old age, diabetes and dementia.
I've been busy working with other people's photos this past month also. Keeping up on the guys who got shot in that shooting here in March. John Seymour is doing quite well now. He's out and about. He sang on Memorial Day, in Mohawk.
Dan Haslauer just had another surgery last week and is back at the Masonic for rehab. He still has a long road ahead.
An old neighbor of ours in the 50's died this week. Joyce Backman. Many good times across the street at their house when I was ten years old. Joyce had lost three of her kids and it's been tough for her. She was 86.
I hear Aunt Sarah is doing okay with her Chemo treatments. Jane said she was in a wheelchair at The Polish Club for Aunt Betty's life celebration. There are three sisters left in that family. Shirley, Sarah and Bev.
The smoke situation was so bad in my apartment that I got mad and wrote another note to put on the door. I guess it worked. I haven't smelled any cigarette smoke since Memorial day. I couldn't even sit at my computer without choking. I was waking up with a sore throat and coughing at night. When I had to get that slide show done, it was the worst and that's why I was so miserable. There are seven smokers in this building now. All they have to do is turn on the exhaust fans in the hallway and it would go out the roof. But some of those old ladies don't like the noise because then they can't hear what's going on out in the hallway. They are all so nosey!!
My tumor is getting larger all the time. But still not in any pain from it. So I'm lucky. I'm still here, despite what the doctors said.
I don't think I'll be going to any family picnics or reunions this year. It's just too hard for me. If anyone wants to see me, they will just have to come and see me.
Nina has decided not to sell her home. I'm happy. It's nice to have her close. She gets my groceries or whatever else I need.
Jeanne was here yesterday, June 1st. I still have not heard a word from Debby but Jane said she tore her other rotator cuff on her shoulder and might have to go for surgery. She did not report it that day so got written up for it. I think she better get things done before the Arms fires her.
We are having on and off again storms today. It's been real hot the last few days. So glad it will be cooler this coming week.
I'm adding a few photos and then I'm saying too-da-loo, till next time. Take care everyone.

Thought you'd all like to see this old picture from 1954, at Betty and Bill's wedding reception. Some of my sibs and cousins are in that back table, along with my Grandparents. |

Good to hear from you, been checking a couple times a week and was a little concerned.
Always good to catch up with your news Ginny. I'm glad you are keeping reasonably well and long may it continue :-) The smoke situation sounds dreadful, people are so selfish! With my breathing difficulties I would find it as troublesome as you, I can't stand the stuff! A note on the door sounds a good idea, put large notices everywhere if it continues!!
Thank you Diana and Jan. I'm still around. Just not blogging much these days. So much to write. I'm way behind now. Oh well. I'll try to catch up. i try to keep up because I have my blog printed out each year from "Sharebook".
