The tests came back positive for rabies so now my brother is undergoing the series of four shots. A neighbor of Steve's had an encounter with that fox the day before and the fox bit his steel toed shoe and he kicked it. Too bad that neighbor didn't alert everyone at that time.
Now we are concerned about Steve's cats. They were always outside and if the fox ate out of their dish then they could be in trouble also. They are not up to date on their rabies shots either. Those cats need to be quarantined for a while to make sure they are not sick. But being the dumb ass that Steve is, he might not do it. Hope his daughter talks to him about that. She said she was going to. It's a very serious situation. nothing to mess around with.
I was told that they have live trapped 17 Gray Fox on Doty's Golf Course already. I don't know where they were released though. That is not very far from Steve's. Just up over the hill really.
That fox that bit Steve most likely had a mate and maybe even young ones still traveling around with it. The ones here are still with their dad a lot. I never see the female fox though.
Today will be our last warmer day for quite a while. It might even hit 75 today. It was very foggy this morning. Now the sun is shining. Rain coming in for this evening. From then on the temps will only be in the 50's. Perfect weather for me. It's been humid the past few days. I can breathe better in the cooler weather.
I'll be back soon. Just wanted to update you all about my brother.
