Had a little rain yesterday and just a few sprinkles so far today. A bit windy too. Haven't gone anywhere. I saw the Mama deer yesterday outside my window. Didn't see her kids. They might have been in the woods. It's hard to spot them among all the leaves. The fox blend in well with the leaves also. That's a good thing.
I can't believe how fast this month is going. But I am still here and have to get my recertification stuff ready so they can determine how much rent I'll be paying this year. It will be going up quite a bit because I don't have as many medical expenses as I did last year. Even though the Government is giving us a raise in our Social Security, I won't be seeing any of it. But at least if I'm lucky I might still get to keep almost as much a month as I did all year. I haven't figured it out yet. I always do all the paperwork before I hand in everything so I will already know what I'll be paying.
I ordered a new pair of sneakers and they just came tonight. UPS delivers late. It was almost 7:00 when he came. Hope this new pair fit me. If not I'll send them back. It's free shipping anyway. I only have one pair and needed another. I really should make an appointment with my primary doctor so she can refer me to a foot doctor. Then I can get orthotic shoes paid by Medicare. But I hate running to doctors. The Orthotics I had made years ago never fit me right so I gave up. I always find that good fitting sneakers are more comfortable for me.
I let Jasper out yesterday and she walked around the apartment for a while and then took a nap under the couch before she came back out in the evening and I put her back in the water. She drags her back foot around yet. She does move it a little but it looks like it's always going to be like that now. Today she surprised me and got up on her log. I was happy about that. She hasn't climbed up that in two months. So maybe she's feeling a bit better and stronger. Poor thing. I gave her a good bath and scrubbed her shell real good. She's starting to shed her skin. That's not good. They really aren't supposed to shed like that. It comes from the water not being at a consistent temperature. That's what I read online. But she's been shedding every year since I had her. That's almost 17 years.
Haven't heard from anyone this week. Just Jeanne on Sunday. She wasn't feeling too well. Her daughter, Jessica and husband are buying his Grandfather's home from the estate. It's way out in the country and I guess they will be moving in the next couple months. They have already sold their home in Herkimer. Jeanne will miss having them close by. It was much easier for her to go see the kids or babysit for them.
Guess that's all for now. Take care everyone.
