It's much cooler today. But that's because of the rain that came through the area. It's only 68 right now. It's gone down since this morning. After all the hot weather it feels good.
I've been going through all my stuff a little at a time to decide what to sell and what to give away. Debby stopped by yesterday. I gave her a floor lamp. I'm also saving her a couple of framed pictures I have on the walls. And a few things that belonged to Aunt Dorothy or Aunt Ruthy that was given to me years ago. Any family things I won't sell. They have to stay within the family. I've already given Jeanne mom's old chocolate set and a few other items. The chocolate set belonged to our Grandmother, Jennie Alexander. Aunt Dorothy always saved that for our mother then she gave it to me after I got married.
I have a lot of stuff listed on Craigslist now and on Facebook. If I can't sell them maybe I'll put them in someones garage sale. Slowly I'll get this apartment down to the bare minimum so my family won't have to move much when I die. I sometimes wonder why we save so many things all our lives. Or buy too many things that we don't need. We just want them because they look nice and after so many years it's hard to part with them. But now it doesn't bother me at all to get rid of them.
I went out very early yesterday morning to get some groceries at Walmart. My knee is hurting pretty bad and after shopping it hurt worse of course but if I take it easy for a few days it will get better I hope.
Poor Debby. Her back and foot is bothering her a lot now. She's going to therapy for the back and has to pay for it herself. She's not sure what happened to her foot. It could be the shoes. That is what was causing my foot pain a month ago. I removed the orthotic I wore for years and slowly my foot pain went away. I still have to put my lifts in and have to keep moving them around because that foot is so weak. Nothing I can do except go for a brace but I really don't want to.
Some jerk that lives here in the building had the nerve to ask me if I'd rent my car to him and his wife every time they wanted to go out. He says I never go out much so I shouldn't mind doing it. They have to give up their car because they can't afford it. Like hell ! I'd never let anyone drive my car. He's already had one mini stroke and takes medication for something in his head. It's my insurance and I'm sure not taking the chance with someone getting into an accident. I can't stand him as it is. Ha!
Last evening I had another mother skunk come down with her kits. This one has six!!! They were so cute. And not one sprayed either, even when all the other ones came at the same time. Sure wish I could have gotten video but it was too dark so all I got was still shots. I used my flash. They didn't seem to mind at all with me talking to them. Of course the mom is used to me.
Three woodchucks are down every day now. This is the first year I've seen that many every day. But they do have a hole close by now.
Steve just called and wanted to come over to visit. If he was alone I wouldn't have minded but he was with my sister's old friend, Sally from Texas. I don't really care for her so I told him I didn't want company today and to come by himself sometime. He's going down to Ashville, NC the week of the reunion so he probably won't be there unless he gets home early enough. He comes back that day. Jim and Patty won't be there either. They will be on vacation out west to see Matthew. So it looks like none of the boys will be coming again this year. Rick won't come if the other boys aren't. And Mike surely won't.
Not sure if Rick is having a picnic at his house this summer or not. He did want to. Just for us kids. Hopefully at the end of summer when everyone is home.
That's about all I can think of right now. Take care everyone.
