August 30, 2012-Had The Girls All Day-Car Passed Inspection

Nina brought Salena and Jessi over at 8:30 am on Wednesday and they spent the day with me. Made them breakfast and then after lunch we made spinach balls so they'd have some to take home. Nina came at 5 pm to get them. Selena had to be at soccer practice by 5:30. Jason would be picking them up because Nina had to teach her class in Utica.
Breakfast. Scrambled eggs with pumpernickel toast with peanut butter and hot chocolate. It was very cool that morning. Salena even had a blanket with her.. But it warmed up to maybe 72 by the end of the day.
Here's all three of us.

A friend of my cousin's daughter, Angie, came and got my car at 2:30 and took it to Little Falls to get it inspected. That was so nice of Dave to do that. He was back by 3:30. My car passed and now I don't have to worry about that for the next year. I want the car to outlast me hopefully. If something happens to it I'm done with a car. Dave is going to come down and patch my back window seal when he gets time. He says it won't take but a few minutes and he already has the seal stuff. The seal on my back windshield is slowly coming off. And it's too hard to try and stretch it back. And I sure don't want to pay over $100 to have a new one put on.
So yesterday (29th) was a busy but good day. Today I'm just going to relax. I'm a bit worn out. And my left knee is hurting a little. I think it's from the girls sitting on it. I noticed a little pain when they got off. So I'll be babying that for a few days. Sure don't want all that pain again that I had for almost a year in it.
It's another beautiful day here. Low humidity and might get up to 80.
It's going to be a long weekend for some people. The kids start back to school on Wed.
Have a nice weekend everyone. Take care.

Steve And Alysha Visited-August 24, 2012

Alysha was home for a couple days. So she and Steve stopped by. Jeanne called and then came over also. Alysha has left NH for good. She was driving to Buffalo today to visit her Aunt Prudy and then to Pittsburg to visit Ben's brother. Then she will be heading to Asheville, NC. Her friend Missy will be riding with her to Asheville and then flying back home to CA.
Faith has rented a larger home that has a separate apartment in it for Alysha. That way they will all be together to help when the baby is born in Nov.
Alysha is six months along now and showing pretty good. She said she feels good and she seems to be handling everything okay. She had a lot of help in Nh, packing up a POD with all her furniture and stuff. I just hope it all works out for her.
It's been in the 80's the past couple days and nice. Getting a bit more humid  and hotter tomorrow. Not sure if it will rain or not. Maybe earlier next week.
I have not made an appointment anywhere to get my car inspected yet. I will have to get somewhere next week. If not I'll take my chances till I can get it done. If it doesn't pass then it's off the road and I won't have a car. I won't like it but I sure can't afford another one. My family will just have to take me to the store.  I only use it go to the store anyway. I only put about 300 miles a year on that thing. It's the independance I'll miss. Like going out at 7 am if I want to or late at night to do my grocery shopping. That old car doesn't cost me much unless it needs repairs, which I can't afford either. Guess I'm better off without a car these days. I'd save on insurance. But that's only $35 a month. I don't put much gas in it. I'd save on registration every two years and the inspections and oil changes each year also. And it's almost been three years and probably the damn battery will be going. Seems like it goes every three years almost to the day. If it does then I can figure around January that it will go dead on me. But I'll worry about that when it happens. First I have to see if pases inspection.
Thursday night I went out at 8:30 pm and was home by 9:30. Then Friday morning I went out to Abuchon to get my critter food at 7 am.
I'm feeling the same. Just having problems with my Ostomy flange again. Very itchy and not sticking well. Pisses me off. On Monday I have to fill all the prescriptions for that stuff. I'm down to my last 7 bags. I do have some other kind if I need them though.
Mike's daughter, Kailyn has gone to Buffalo to start college. Alysha was going to stop and see her also. I see a picture on facebook of Kailyn at her dorm with Mike and Tonya.
Here's a couple pics of us yesterday. Take care everyone.
 Me, Alysha and Jeanne.
Alysha and her dad, Steve.

August 21, 2012-Pam's Wedding Pics

Here's a few of Debby's photos from Pam & John's wedding day on the 18th. They had a beautiful day for it. They all had hangovers the next day..Ha!
Pam's dogs were there also. Tank and Forest. Forest is Greg's really. Big St. Bernard!

August 16, 2012 This And That

Wow! It's already the 16th of August! Pretty soon the kids will be back to school and it will be fall. Yikes! Nina is stopping by later with more cucumber and squash. I've really been enjoying them. Nothing like fresh veggies!
Debby stopped over Sunday. She went to the Miller reunion on Saturday. Jeanne, Jane & Savey and Pam were there also. It was quieter there this year.   Karen is going to have it a week earlier next year. She hopes more people will come. Because she always seems to have it the same week as the Canal days in Little Falls and  some are at that.
We did get some rain this week anyway. That was nice. Today it's nice. Less humid.
Debby had her colonoscopy yesterday. Haven't heard from her yet so I'm presuming all went well. But she will be having surgery soon for an Ovarian cyst and water in her tubes. She hasn't been working overtime at the Remington Arms so she's had more time this summer.
She got a notice from the village about feeding wild cats in the neighborhood. She has been feeding a mother cat that had kittens. Those are the ones Jane took and gave homes to. Jane tried to trap the mother but never could. Now she's had more kittens and Jane has those two. The poor things were all wet and covered with maggots outside Debby's place, near her porch. She called Jane and they washed them off and Jane took them and is bottle feeding them for a couple weeks. They were only about four weeks old. Just two. The other one didn't make it. The maggots had eaten through it.
The animal control officer in Ilion will trap them and take them to a farm out in the country I have heard. No one seems to know what happens to them. I wouldn't be surprised if he's killing them. Debby has to go to court about that I think. She can be fined $100 a cat. There are other people on that street that are feeding them also. But Deb better be careful now. Jane has spent more time and money on those wild cats than any village would. She gets all their shots and has the vet check them over. If she had caught the mother she would have paid to have it spayed.
Nina was going to go to Pam's wedding reception but after Debby talked to Pam at the reunion it seems Pam doesn't wants kids even at the reception. So Debby's daughter, Danielle won't be going either. And neither will Nina. At first Pam had told me that kids would be allowed at the Sprite Club for the reception. Better off if they aren't. It's going to be one drunken party.
Mike sent me an e-mail when I asked for his address. He said he's not going either. He said the only wedding he will be going to is his own daughters when they get married someday. I had sent Mike an e-mail because his adoptive father, Sam Long had died and I read it online. Even though Mike hadn't talked to Sam in 15 years he still went to the services for his sister's sake only.
Jim should be back from out west by now. Patty was back the 14th but she flew. Jim was riding his bike all the way back. Patty said they had a great time out there with Matthew. I never see any pictures from Matthew on his Facebook page though..
I'm doing about the same. Noticed some burning in my groin where that tumor is but it went away.
I might go out tonight to Walmart for a few things. Then in the early morning I'll have to go over to Agway for the critter food.
I've seen the fox pup a few times and the three fawns were out here yesterday without their mom. They are growing up fast.
So that's about it for now. Take care everyone and have a nice weekend. I probably won't be back for a few days.

August 11, 2012-Rainy Days And Humid

It's been warm and humid the past few days. I went out late Thursday evening to get groceries. Thought it would be cooler but it was still very muggy. Had to go though. Didn't want to go on Friday when it's too busy. Yesterday we had a few thunder storms in the morning then the rest of the day it rained lightly.
This morning it's a bit gloomy and looks like rain . I guess scattered rain showers so that means it might be nice at times. I hope so because the Miller reunion is today up on Casey Road. I'm not going though. It's just too hard for me to walk around with the crutches and to sit in low chairs and try to get up out of them. But my worst fear is peeing my pants. I have to run to the bathroom all the time. I wouldn't be able to drink anything at all and I can't get into a port a potty or even get up off a toilet. So I will not be going to any get togethers this year.
Pam is getting married to John next weekend and I'm not going to that either.
I need to stay home on flat ground and near a toilet that I can get up off of. And where I'll be safe. I'm so afraid of falling. From now on I'm doing what is right for me. Not what anyone else wants me to do.
Debby said she might come over tomorrow to visit.  Last night she sent me a message on Facebook. She had gone out on her porch to put garbage out and there was a skunk on her porch..That was close. If she had ever startled that skunk she'd be a stinky mess right now..Ha!
Nina dropped me off some more fresh veggies on Thursday evening. She had Jessi run them in to me. She was on her way to take Salena to her Aunt's house in Schuyler. Salena is going to PA today with her Aunt, who is in a Triathlon there. Salena was excited about going. Hope she don't mind that long ride.

Nina's cucumbers are the best I've tasted in lots of years. Juicy and sweet. The Zucchini and yellow squash is delicious also! She also gave me a few little sweet green peppers. Yum! Here's a picture of them.

I talked to Jeanne for a few minutes. She's had a sinus infection for the past month. She always gets those. Must be a reason for it. But she will never go to a doctor. She has no insurance. She said she's going to the reunion . I think Jane and Savey are going also. Not sure about anyone else.
So that's it for now. Got to go watch for the critters. I'm still waiting to get some close up pics of the fox pups. But two of them were right outside my bedroom window last night and making noises at each other. It was too dark to get pics though. They were so cute.
Have a nice weekend everyone.

August 7, 2012-Nice Weather Finally

The past couple days have been cooler and very nice. No humidity. I went out at 7 this morning to get critter food and to Walmart for a few items. Was home by 8. It was very foggy out there. I've enjoyed this cooler weather but tomorrow it's going to be hot and humid again.
The deer came out of the woods yesterday. I hadn't seen them in a few days because of the heat. Poor things. But yesterday they were enjoying themselves. The fawns came out without their mom in the afternoon. They are growing fast and getting braver. I'm sure the mom was nearby. I just couldn't see her. The fawns stayed out there for quite a while, wandering around. Then they finally got spooked and ran into the woods.
I've seen the fox pups a couple times but still haven't gotten very good pics of them. I've only seen two. I did catch them climbing a tree and sliding down. Got that on video on Youtube.
Nina and the girls were over the other day. I had her stop at Agway for a bag of critter food. It was too hot for me to go out that day. She brought me some fresh veggies from her garden. Zucchini  and yellow squash and the best tasting cucumbers I've had in years! Hope she brings me more.. The cucumbers I bought in the store last time tasted moldy. I couldn't eat them at all and threw them in the garbage. I didn't even know Nina was growing a garden. She said it's the first time in years. Great job!
Nina will be back to teaching in a couple weeks. She didn't take that other part time job because it would have interfered with her college one. She's always looking for better jobs that pay more though. Her friend, Kathy Jo, is working in the Governor's office and she is in charge of getting new people so she might get Nina a job. Nina would double her pay and she said she'd move to Albany area if that happened. Kathy Jo always lands good paying jobs and she don't have a quarter of the degrees that Nina has.  But Nina always wanted to put her kids first and wait till they were grown. That's why she likes teaching. It gives her more time with the kids. I hope she does get a better paying job someday so she won't be struggling all the time.
I haven't heard from anyone so I guess that's all for now.
Take care everyone. Be back soon.
Tickle-Tickle   Ha! That's one way to get them laughing.

August 3, 2012-Time Sure Flies

Wow! It's been over a week since I've written anything! Either I'm getting lazy about this blog now or I just don't have much to say..Ha! It just seems like I never get to it.
Everything is about the same. As far as my health goes I am having a few discomforts from that growth in my groin and have had a few backaches now and then. Other than that I guess I'm okay. I am having Nina pick up my critter food today so I won't have to be lifting those bags. I did manage to get out the other night for a few groceries at Walmart. It's such a drain on my body when I have to go out. Trying to get up out of the car does a job on me.
Jim and Patty are going West to visit Matthew. Jim has already left. He's riding with another guy and hauling the bike but will be riding his bike back alone. I always worry about him on that bike. Patty is flying out tomorrow. They are coming back on the 14th.
Alysha is moving back to Asheville at the end of the month. Her sister, Faith, has rented a different house so there will be more room for Alysha and the baby when it comes. I hope that works out.
Jane stopped to see Rick last week. She was surprised to see him outside helping Jim. He wasn't supposed to be but he can't sit still while he heals. Thank God he will be okay. Jane said the gash on the side of his head was awful. 27 stitches to the right side of his head. I just hope he don't have any future problems from that fall.
The Miller Reunion is on the 11th. I won't be going. Just too hard for me to walk and I can't go to the bathroom. seems these days I have to pee constantly. When I go anywhere I have to not drink anything for a couple hours. That's how I go to the store. But when I come in the door I have to hurry to the bathroom before I pee my pants. Guess I'll have to wear Depends someday.
Pam's wedding is on the 18th. I won't be going to that either. Nina said she will be going. I'm glad.
I had Nina bring me over some ice cream last night. The girls came with her. They will be back today with the critter food so I'll visit with them longer. It was 9 pm when they got here last night. Salena had glasses on. But turns out they are only cheap readers that she wanted to wear for the fun of it because she likes the look. Ha! I told her she better not wear them often or she will be ruining her eyes. Jessi had just bought kids make up so she will be experimenting with that..Ha!
Looks like rain coming today. We need it. Going to be real hot tomorrow. In the 90's. Glad I'm inside.
I better get going. My birds want their breakfast.
Take care everyone.
