Saturday, April 30, 2011-Beautiful Day!

We finally had a beautiful spring day! Clear blue skies and in the 50's. Perfect. But I didn't like what I saw out my window today. There were guys up in the back woods cutting down trees. I saw three huge trees fall. I feel so bad for the baby critters and birds that were in those trees. I think a house is being built up there. The poor squirrels were all crying and the birds were having a fit all morning while they were up there. They could have waited just a few more weeks. By then the babies would have been big enough maybe. I sure hope the fox den wasn't in there. Some people don't care one bit about animals and they will kill them for fun. So that part of my day was sad.
I did see the one baby squirrel later in the day so at least he is still okay. The tree he lives in wasn't touched. Not yet anyway.
There's a new woman moving in upstairs. She's younger than 62 so she must be on disability. She walks okay and looks healthy but sometimes you can't tell if they have a heart problem or something. All disabilities aren't as obvious as mine.
I am so sore tonight. My back hurts like hell. That's because I just got done doing four loads of laundry and changing my bed. Was on my feet too much. My left leg and foot is killing me also. I can't wait to get into bed in a few minutes. Wanted to write here first. I can't even take a deep breath. When I do my whole back hurts.

My oldest daughter, Ginny, called me today. She only spoke for a few minutes. Dave has gone back up to MN and won't be back in TN for 80 days. . Ginny is glad he's gone but the boys miss their father. It's a crazy situation for sure. I talked to Othiniel longer than I did Ginny. But she did tell me that they found a baby rabbit and it died. And the two baby squirrels that the boys had found died also. How sad. I was surprised that the squirrels were still alive last time I talked to her. They lived a month. She did say one fell out of a tree but didn't say why the other died . I think they just did not get the right food or the boys were too rough with them. I'm thinking more it was not the right food. And the baby rabbit was way too small to live without it's mother.

Tomorrow is supposed to be another beautiful day and in the low 70's. Sure wish I felt better and could walk. I'd love to go outside. But I better be careful and maybe this pain will go away soon.

April 29, 2011-It WAS A Beautiful Morning-Not For Long

It really looks like a nice spring day outside for a change. No wind and the trees are looking much greener. Some of the baby squirrels from back in the woods are running around and having fun in the trees. One decided to venture down to the yard last night. He didn't stay long and ran back to the tree for safety. He was so cute. I have way too many squirrels around here though. But baby ones are always cute to watch.
I have an awful back ache again this morning. I guess I might have to break down and take an Ibuprofen or something. But I don't take anything for fear of it damaging the liver faster. But if this pain keeps up I'll have to. I hate being bent over. I really do feel so old now.
I'm going to enjoy the sun and watching the critters this morning. We might get rain later today and then it's going to be nice weather for a few days I think. We've had enough rain for a while.
A tornado took the roof off a house in Frankfort yesterday morning during that awful storm at 5 am. No other homes were hit though. Lucky. We don't get tornadoes like they do down south but now and then one will pop up.
I didn't get up to watch the Royal weeding but I was awake at 6 am. I am so tired and can't sleep much these days. I did see Kate's dress and the "kiss" later on the morning news. That stuff will be on TV all day long.

Well. That sun didn't last long. It was all cloudy by 10:00 am and then it sprinkled some. Looks like the rest of the day will be cloudy also.

I am disappointed. :( The mother squirrel moved her babies again! And this time she brought them down the tree and disappeared beyond my view. I tried to see if she was climbing up another tree but couldn't see anything. Maybe she's got them lower so they won't fall out from that distance. It sure was fun watching the mother all this time and the babies for a few days.
I can see the older babies that are playing in the back woods so that makes me happy. I was watching two of them running through the branches this morning. They sure move fast!
My back ache has let up some. I might go to the store later. I don't care if it's raining or not.

Thursday, April 28, 2011-Thunderstorms And Wind

We had another wicked thunder and lightening storm early this morning! It's raining on and off this morning and the wind is pretty strong. What a difference in the trees from yesterday till today. The leaves are growing so fast I can hardly see the squirrel's nest. I did manage to get more video last evening of the babies playing in their nest. Watched the mother down below as she wandered around eating. She did not go back into the nest till almost dark. I got video of that also. By the time she went back the babies were quiet and probably sleeping.
Saw mommy and daddy fox last evening also. They were together this time. Thank heavens for all my critters. I never get bored.
That humming noise was so bad all night long. My turtle could not sleep at all in her water so I had to get back up at 1 am and take her out and let her sleep on the floor. That vibration really bothers her. It's ten times as worse when she's in the water. No one is in the office today. I am going to tell them about it. If someone has a vibrating chair maybe they can move it a bit. Maybe it's hitting against a wall or something. I never had this noise till about three months ago. That's when the woman upstairs moved in. I am going to ask her if she has anything running. But it could be Emma also. Maybe she got a new chair. I remember a few months ago she said her lift chair was broke. And then it could be Ella, upstairs over Emma, who is next door to me. If it's Ella I won't be able to do anything about it. She can't hear and she never understands what we are talking about. Even when someone writes something down she says she don't understand. She's in the first stages of Dementia or Alsheimers I think. I've got to get to the bottom of this. It's driving me nuts. I can't even be in my own bed and the whole mattress vibrates. It's odd that I can feel it through this cement floor. That's why I'm thinking it might be Emma next door.
I'm going to ask Sara, the girl in the office to look into it.
Not sure what the weather will be like for the rest of the day. I can see the sun trying to peek out but then it sprinkles also. There are still thunderstorm warnings till 4 pm. Lots of local flooding in some areas around here.

We had quite a thunder and lightening storm last night. I opened my shade just to watch it. Awesome. There is flooding up near Middleville and Poland area. The West Canada creek is overflowing. Might get worse if we get more storms later this evening. It's quite humid and warm again today. Worse than yesterday.
I haven't seen the foxes. They never came last evening. But I have been watching those baby squirrels that the mom moved. They are quite active in their nest right now. Even though they are far away I can still see their little movements. I will be uploading a video of them to Youtube today.
Right now the sun is shining but there are clouds around so it comes and goes. A little breezy out there also.
The landlord let our maintenance girl go. I was talking to Mark, the maintenance man here. He is mad because now he has a lot more work to do. He has quite a few buildings to take care of. He and Jen usually clean up my area of yard for me each spring. there's always quite a mess from all the seeds I threw out all winter. They shovel it into a wheelbarrow and haul it up to the woods and dump it into a compost pile. If Mark is going to be so busy he won't be able to do it. I told him to call Jen and maybe she would still do it for me. Now she has to try and find odd jobs. She always had her business before deciding to go with this landlord. She never expected to be terminated. She does all the painting in the apartments when someone moves out and mows the lawns. And vacuums all the buildings. Now that stuff will never get done. Especially inside this building. It never gets cleaned here very much. They had her running around everywhere to all the buildings.
Jen was going to take my turtle also. Not sure if she's going to now. But I will keep Jasper as long as I'm able. jasper has been sleeping for a couple weeks under my living room chair. This morning when I got up she was waiting for me by my computer chair. She wanted to be put back in the tub. She always comes and finds me when she has to. Turtles are much smarter than people think.
Too bad my brother, Steve, is so lazy or I'd have him clean my yard. But he doesn't like to work too hard and he doesn't have a car anyway. No tools. Even though he could use the ones here at the building. I'm sure Jen will still do it. She will need the money now. And I pay them very well to do this messy job.
It's getting warm in here but I don't want to drag out my air conditioner yet. It will be cooling down by tomorrow. Mark put the air conditioner in for the woman up over me today. When I was talking to him out my window today she asked him from her window upstairs. trouble is the air conditioner is over the window I use to take pictures and I have already noticed drips from it on my window. I'm not going to like that very much. I thought he was going to put it in the window next to it but he didn't. At least I can't hear it. But I am still hearing that humming noise all the time and it bothers me. I can feel it on the floor also when I'm sitting here. I still haven't figured out where it's coming from in this building. It runs 24 hours a day. Someone has a machine on constantly or a vibrating chair. Someday I'll get to the bottom of that mystery. It's been running for 3 months now. Jasper hates it I think and that is why she won't stay in her water and wants to get out all the time. The vibration would really bother a turtle like that.
So. That's it for now. Got to go do something and get off this chair. My bones are hurting a lot lately.

Easter Day-2011-Nina And Jessi Stopped By

My daughter, Nina, did stop over in the afternoon before she went to her father's for dinner. She only had Jessi with her though. The other two kids were with their father. They brought me two Easter plants. One was a Hyacinth and the other a Tulip. Very pretty. I can smell the Hyacinth all through my apartment.
They didn't stay very long. About an hour and a half. Jessi can count to 100 now but Nina said she got a note from her teacher saying she writes some of her numbers backwards. And she still needs extra help with her "sight" words. Or she won't pass Kindergarten!! Can you believe that? They have to know a lot more in Kindergarten than they did years ago. And they send her home with homework that the parents have to do really. Nina doesn't like that. She doesn't have the time she says. Nina always has to do her own home work and get the assignments ready for the next day for her students.
I sure hope Jessi never flunks Kindergarten!!! What a thing to have to tell your friends when you get older..Ha! Ha!
It's gloomy today. Every day this week we could get some rain they say. But one good thing is the trees are sprouting their leaves fast now.

Happy Easter To You All! April 24, 2011

I had some excitement last evening! I watched as the mother squirrel moved three of her babies to a new nest! I'm glad they will be in a better place. I was always so worried about that one. I won't be able to view the babies when they get bigger though because the tree is back further and when the leaves come out my view will be blocked. And I've seen a lot of squirrel activity in the back woods. I think those babies are older and the mom is teaching them to climb and jump right now. I also watched the mommy fox go back to a certain spot and I think that might be where the den is. Too bad everything will be covered soon if foliage. I won't be able to observe the little ones playing outside the den. But I will see them in the beginning of June when they venture out farther and come to visit me.
So that was a nice surprise for me and thrilling to see that mom carrying her babies. If you want to see a video of her go to my Photography blog and view it. It's also on Youtube and I will be adding a few more videos to Youtube soon.
Have a nice Easter everyone. I'm not doing anything. Staying home as usual. I don't expect any company either unless my daughter happens to call and want to stop by but she usually goes to her sister's for dinner on Easter. Her father's side of the family all gather there every year. It's good for the kids.
I'm disappointed though. This morning the sun was shining and it was a beautiful couple hours. Now it's all cloudy again. Oh well. Nothing we can do about it. Take care.

April 23, 2011-Another Dreary Day. Happy Easter!

It was raining all morning and has been gloomy most of the day. At 4:00 the sun peeked out for a few minutes. I haven't been doing much. Watching a few movies on TV.
I did see the squirrel near her nest today but she was going up and down other parts of the tree. Not sure what is going on there but I'll keep watching.
I saw a couple flickers today. Didn't get any close up pictures. All I got was a little video of them. We'll be having baby flickers soon I hope. Never see many of those. They are pretty birds. In the Woodpecker family.
The squirrels are driving me nuts though. They won't go away and keep jumping on my window. Mostly a couple young males that are too aggressive. Those are the ones that chew on the windows sometimes.
I don't feel too bad today. My back was bothering me through the morning hours. It went away so I'm not feeling too bad this afternoon.
Haven't heard from anyone so I have nothing to report.

April 22, 2011 Brrrr! It's Too Cold For April.

It's only 28 degrees this morning. I hate this cold weather. Yesterday we had rain, snow and sleet all day and it was so windy. Those trees were whipping in the wind. It's a wonder the squirrel's nests stay up in the trees like they do. I feel bad for the little babies that might be in them. They have to be cold. Even if the mother tries to keep them warm. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather that is supposed to be coming next week. Not going to be a very nice weekend either I guess. It might rain on Easter. Not good for all the pretty Easter Bonnets and Easter egg hunts etc.
I had such bad pain in my right hip and back last night when I went to bed. But this morning it feels better, thank heavens. I have to go out later and was so worried I wouldn't be able to. These back and hip problems are getting worse it seems. I think the pain last night was from lifting my 27 lb. jug of water onto the crock. I really shouldn't be lifting them but no one else is going to. I'm here all alone and when it's time to put a new one on there isn't anyone I can grab to do it. Besides, I've been doing it all along. Just sometimes maybe I lift it wrong. It takes a toll on my back because I can't bend my legs to lift like normal people because of the polio and not having the leg muscles. Hell! I sure have lifted heavier things in the past when I had the bar..Ha!

I have to go for now. Got to uncover my birds and get their cages clean and get them breakfast!

Update:

I did get out today and the sun actually was out quite a bit today! It got up to about 52 degrees. My back was bothering me a little but the more I walked the better it got. I had to go to Aubuchon Hardware for my Parina Bird chow and then I went to Walmart to pick up a few grocery items. I wasn't gone long. Not even an hour. But the fresh air felt good.

I didn't see the squirrel around her nest at all today. I could have missed her though. I'll watch for her tomorrow.
Saw the daddy fox tonight but then it was getting too dark to watch for the mommy. Can't get very good pictures when it's almost dark anyway.
Last night one of the skunks sprayed and stunk up my bedroom. I covered my head..Ha! Ha! It helps. There's only about three skunks that come around but if a male tries to get near a female she will spray him.
It's going to rain again tonight and tomorrow. Might get a few sprinkles on Easter Sunday also. But at least we have next week to look forward to. It's going to be a lot warmer. There's only one more week left of April. The time is going by so fast. But I'm happy to still be here and feeling good enough to get out now and then. I will cherish each day for I never know when it will come to an end. The trouble with me is, I know it's coming soon. Most people never know when the end might be and it comes suddenly. At least I've had warnings so I know and am prepared for it. Well. Not sure if any of us is really prepared even when we know. But at least I got a few things taken care of beforehand.
So it's off to bed soon and tomorrow is another day!

It was thundering this morning. I shut my computer off for a while till it stopped. I never want to take a chance on ruining my PC.
I have had a wicked time walking this morning. My back hurt so bad. It's always in one hip or the other. But it's starting to feel better now.
I'm not going to do too much today. So maybe I'll be back here later and maybe not. Nothing to say really at the moment.

April 19, 2011-Gloomy Day

It was a gloomy day. Late in the afternoon it started raining. I wanted to go over to Walmart so I did at 6:30 pm. It was raining lightly but when I came out it was coming down harder. I didn't mind. I like the rain. I was running out of a couple items so thought I'd go tonight instead of tomorrow because we might have thunderstorms.
I didn't feel that great today. Nothing I can pinpoint. Just odd little things that I am feeling in my body lately. And my back aching every morning is not good. My knee still bothers me. It always makes a popping noise when I walk now. Not in the knee itself but on the outside of it and down that leg. It's getting harder to walk around Walmart. But I'll be damned if I ever get in one of those riding carts. Maybe as the weather gets warmer I'll feel better. It's just been so damp lately.
I keep forgetting that Easter is this Sunday. I never do anything on Easter and I never see the kids so I don't bother getting them anything. Maybe I will see them one of these days. They are on vacation from school this week.
My daughter, Ginny, called me Sunday. She's feeling better. Her legs were hurting so bad that she needed crutches for a while. She thinks moving to TN helped. It's warmer there. I talked to the boys for a few minutes also. They have a couple of baby squirrels that they found. I am surprised the squirrels are doing okay. The last time she called I told her to make sure they didn't give them any cows milk. It kills them. Ginny still won't tell me where she is living or give me an address. That's the way she's always been. Her daughters would like to drive there to see her if she ever tells them where she is. She is so afraid of the government agencies finding her. That's because she never puts her kids in school and doesn't believe in giving them any immunization shots. I always worry that one of the boys will get some horrible disease like Polio or something. I can't believe she lives like she does. I stay out of it now. She used to get mad at me and not call for years. At least she does call so I know how she's doing.
Tomorrow's another day. I have to go to bed now. I'm tired. Take care everyone.

April 17, 2011-Very Windy But Sunny At Times

What a windy night it was! And it's still windy this morning. The squirrel's nest is still holding up. I don't think the mother squirrel is coming out today. She might be afraid to leave the babies. At least I haven't seen her yet. Didn't see her last night but it was raining pretty hard. Didn't see anything but the skunks last night. They love coming out in the rain.
I have a wicked back ache this morning. It's so hard to walk, even with my walker. Hopefully it will go away as I walk around more. It might be my bed and the way I sleep that's causing it. But I'm not going to complain. At least I'm still alive and here!!

I made it through the day. My back ache came and went then came back again later for a little while.. It was a do nothing day. Rainy and gloomy. At least the squirrel's nest has survived these past two days of wind. saw the foxes tonight. The adults. That's all!

April 16, 2011-Gloomy, Rainy Day

We are in for some heavy winds and rain all weekend. It hasn't started raining yet but the winds have picked up. Now I will be worrying about that squirrel in her nest during all this bad weather.
I'm just going to stay put today and watch the outside. My knee is cracking a lot so I better rest it today. It hurts when I walk. It always hurts more after I've been out shopping. My back seems to be okay though! That's one good thing. But I am having a few pains under my right rib cage. Might be my liver. But I've already lived longer than I thought I would so I'm happy!!

April 15, 2011-Nice Day! Went Out.

What a beautiful day it was here! In the low 50's and sunny. I went out to Walmart and Agway. Really enjoyed the fresh air and sun. Wish my knee and foot wasn't hurting so much. I would have went outside more. My back was aching in the morning and I had to wait til that went away before I went out at 12:30. I was back home by 1:30.
The moon is almost full last night. It was real bright but tonight there are clouds so it's not as clear. It's going to be cloudy and rainy for the next week according to the news.
Not much else going on. Jane and Savey will be heading to Myrtle Beach this coming Thursday. They are staying for two and a half weeks this time. Savey can finally take a break. He works so much during tax season.
Jimmy has been putting new cupboards and counters in their house. And he also opened up a wall between the kitchen and living room. That will be nicer. I'll have to drive up to see it sometime this summer.
Rick wants to have a party at his cabin this summer. I couldn't make it last year so I'm hoping I will be able to this year. He is also getting his degree in finance. He's been taking these courses for a couple years now. Then when he retires from the Air Force he can do this other work. Taxes etc.
I'm not sure if Nina has gotten her CPA license yet. She will be soon though. The kids are out of school for spring break right now. I think it's for one week. Not sure.
So it was a good day for me. Just relaxed. Watched the critters outside. The fox came out early last night and I got some good video of him. Tonight he didn't come out till almost dark so I didn't bother taking any pictures.
There were three skunks outside the window last night and I heard them starting to argue so I opened the window to yell at them. Then they got quiet and behaved themselves from then on...ha ha ! When I open the window they come running over and stand up to beg me for some nuts. They are cute. Too bad they have to be so stinky at times.

April 14, 2011-Finally Some Sun Again!

After a couple rainy days and a gloomy morning here today the sun is finally out. I am still having back problems but the ache always goes away by noon after I walk around the apartment a lot. Maybe it's because of my foot hurting all the time and I'm walking different. Maybe it's from gaining too much weight. Who knows but I feel good otherwise.
My half brother, who lives in Little Falls, had a terrible house fire yesterday. No one was home, thank God, but he lost everything. It was quite a huge fire. Saw it on the news. Two family house. He lived in one side. He had just bought all new furniture with his tax refund. They also lost their puppy and cat in the fire. But the two kids and he and his wife are safe and that is what matters the most. His family and friends have already planned a benefit at the end of April and they have lots of stuff donated to them. Especially for his young son and daughter, who lost all their clothes etc. How sad. Seems Charlie never gets a break. I had just given him some stuff of my fathers a few months ago and lots of pictures. I can replace the pictures and DVD's I gave him but the old stuff of his father's is gone forever now. Life is more important than material things. Maybe I can find something to donate to the benefit. Maybe to raffle off or something.
I'm not planning on going out today. Maybe over the weekend I might. I have to get some more treats for the foxes. I saw the adults last night and it was light enough that I could get some video of them. have that on my Youtube channel.

April 12, 2011-Still Having Back Aches

Not sure why my back aches so much every morning. It does ease up by noon though. Well, after yesterday's heat we really didn't get much of a rain storm. It did rain a bit for a while and I heard thunder off in the distance but that was all. Then it got real windy after dark for a while. This morning it was quite a bit cooler. I was glad of that. I can't take too much heat this fast. We did have some sunshine most of the day and then it clouded up. It's supposed to rain after midnight and all day tomorrow.

Didn't do too much today either. Just had to take my garbage down to the trash room. It was hard walking down there with my back so bad. I did that early this morning. But I made it back okay. Just went real slow. Glad no one was out there. I mailed Jessi a DVD and some pictures also. Not sure if they have "Show and Tell" at her school but if she does she can always show them Grandma's critters..Ha! Ha!

Monday, April 11, 2011-Wicked Back Ache

I can hardly walk today. I have a very bad backache in my lower back. It was there yesterday morning also but not as bad as today. So I guess I won't be doing too much.
It's cloudy and was 66 degrees at 6 am. We are going to get rain later this afternoon. Thunderstorms and maybe some hail. Guess I'll be keeping my eye on the squirrel's nest. I always feel bad for her when it's windy and the nest is in danger of falling apart. Not sure if there are babies in it or not but I'm presuming there is. She sits outside the nest a lot.

April 9, 2011-Beautiful Day! I Went Out

It was a perfect spring day today! Got up to about 61 degrees. I went out at 10:30 this morning to get groceries and to get more critter food. I really enjoyed getting out in the sun and fresh air again. It's been a week.
On my way out of Walmart I bumped into my daughter and Granddaughter, Jessi. Jessi is sick and got sent home from school yesterday. Nina said they've all been sick again on and off for the past three weeks. They were going to buy a birthday present for some little girl that was having a party at McDonald's. Jessi was feeling well enough to go to that! Ha! She felt bad because she couldn't hug me too close. But I did hug her anyway. Just didn't get close to her face. I had sent her a card in the mail the other day so she was happy about that. I told her I'd be sending her a DVD also. I didn't have an envelope for it the other day but just bought more. Jessi needs a little more attention than the other two kids. They have their father also. Jessi doesn't. I wanted to have her over for a day and night maybe but she's always sick and I can't take any chances on getting sick after just getting over that darn cold. But maybe soon.
It's going to be even warmer tomorrow but by Monday we will be having rain and thunder storms. And it will be in the 70's!! Yikes! I'll be complaining about the humidity soon..Ha! I can't take the heat too much.
Didn't do much else the rest of the day. I was pooped and had a back ache when I got home today. And my leg was hurting from walking.
Nothing else to report about. I'm feeling good otherwise. Thank God!

April 7, 2011-It's Getting Warmer!

The sun is shining and it's getting up to 50 or more today! It started out real foggy this morning though. I'm not going out till Saturday though. Might even hit near 70 this weekend! Yikes!
I still cough now and then. My lings aren't quite cleared yet. But I feel good. Just puttering around. Did some ironing. I'm just enjoying the sunny day. Lots of Chipmunks around, gathering leaves for their nests. I'm still watching the mother squirrel that lives up high in the tree in the nest with her babies. She comes down every evening to eat and now I can tell she's feeding babies. I'll be keeping a close watch on them. I might even have to get my video recorder out to get better close ups when I start seeing babies.

April 5, 2011-Raining And Cold For Two Days

One of the Gray Fox I saw tonight.

The last two days have been gloomy. It's been raining and today we even had some snowflakes in the air. But better weather is coming for the rest of the week. By The weekend it is going to be in the high 50's and maybe even 60 by Sunday!!
I haven't been doing much for the past two days. Just some cleaning and puttering around. I'm feeling good but every now and then I still cough. Guess my lungs still need clearing out a bit. I've been sleeping better.
My flange on my belly lasted five days again! I changed it this morning. So happy about that.
I went out to get my mail this afternoon and that guy that coughs loud came around the corner and tried to talk to me but I hurried back into my apartment...I just said hi and that was it..Ha! I don't care if he thought I was rude or not. I'm not hanging around in that bad air in the hallway.
It sure is windy today. I watched as that squirrel's nest was swaying back and forth. It held on though. I worry about the babies getting blown out.
Just after dark tonight I watched two of the foxes come down out of the woods. I got up on my stool and opened the window and was talking to them. They stayed on the other side of the wall as I was talking. It was nice seeing them. Can't wait to see the babies next month.
I won't be going out till maybe Saturday this week. Will have to get more groceries by then.
My brother, Rick's birthday was yesterday. He was 54. I didn't get his card out in time but better late than never. All the kids are getting up there in age. Seems weird that we are all so old now. I always worry about the boys having heart attacks. Lots of heart problems in our family. On both sides. My mother's sisters both had heart attacks in their 60's. I used to worry about having one but not any more. Too many other things happened..

April 3, 2011-Coughing Fits

Yesterday was a beautiful day. I did get out to do some shopping and I even took a short ride to Ilion and back. I drove through the Marina. Not a soul around and it looked to desolate but soon it will be bursting with life. The grass will be green and flowers will be up soon. I was hoping to see a duck or something but there wasn't one bird to be seen around there. Not even a critter. I thought that was odd. Then I came back to Mohawk and drove to the top of Putts Hill. Didn't see much of anything up there either except for a few Turkey Hawks off in the distance landing in the corn field. I see more from my windows..Ha!
I thought I was over the coughing but late yesterday afternoon I started having a coughing attack and it was coming from deep in my lungs. The rattling was terrible and by the time I calmed down a bit it felt like my esophagus was raw and maybe bleeding but I didn't spit up any blood, thank heavens. So I guess my lungs are still cleaning out. When I breathe in I don't hear any rattling. But when I breathe out as much as I can it sounds bad. The mucus isn't green so I'm safe there.
This morning the rattle is still there but I haven't coughed yet. I'm afraid to now. Afraid I won't be able to stop. But I am feeling quite good. The sun is shining and it's going to be another nice day. We might get rain tomorrow. April showers bring May flowers they say. And April rains wash all the dirt away. Everything always looks so dirty after winter. But the snow isn't gone yet from here. After this coming week's warmer weather it should be just about gone.
I've got a few CD's of pictures to get together and a DVD for Jessi but otherwise I'm just going to relax today.

April 2, 2011-I Feel Great And The Sun Is Shining!

Spring is here! Saw my first Robin, even though they have been around for a long time. One finally showed himself to me..LOL

It's going to be a great day! The sun is shining and I'm going out shopping! I had a good night's sleep. No more coughs or anything. I'm going to get out and get some of that sun on me. I'll be back later. Have a great day everyone! I know I will.

April 1, 2011-Feeling Great!

I'm finally back to normal I think!! I felt pretty good today and never had one coughing fit. Also slept better last night. It was a rainy, gloomy day today and yesterday but the snow missed us today. Glad of that.

I got my Ostomy supplies for the month today. I'm going to stick with the Convatec flanges now and the closed end bags.
I plan on going out tomorrow. Back to Agway for my bags of nuts and seeds for the critters. I didn't get them all the other day because there is a deal if you shop over the weekend. I get a $5 coupon towards my next purchase. Then I'm going to Walmart for a few items. I'm getting so heavy again that I need bigger pants...ha ha !! But I'm never complaining about weight again after being so skinny. I'm not going to quit eating for nothing! I don't care. I'm going to enjoy eating as long as I'm alive now! It feels so good just to have that damn cold out of my body. I had to take some garbage down to the trash room tonight so I put a face mask on. I'm not taking any more chances with the germs that are flying around here.
I saw one of the Pileated Woodpeckers close up yesterday and got some good photos of him. He had landed right on the tree that is closest to me. I'm sure glad I looked out when I did and had time to grab the camera. He usually flies off fast but this time he walked up the side of the tree. Wish his mate had been with him like she was before. But I'm thrilled just to get a closer photo of one!
